If your Wednesday plans don’t involve ossobuco and great wine… you might want to rethink them.
The kind of dinner that makes a cold Wednesday worth leaving the house for.
There’s something special about a long table in winter. The wine gets passed, conversations drift from one end to the other, and before you know it, the evening has slipped away.
Our monthly Supper Club is quietly becoming one of those evenings people come back to, month after month. Familiar faces return, new ones pull up a chair, and by dessert it feels less like dining out and more like gathering around a friend’s table.
This month’s menu is everything winter calls for. A buttery tomato tartlet with peppery rocket to start, followed by slow braised ossobuco with saffron risotto that’s rich, comforting and made for chilly evenings. To finish, silky vanilla panna cotta with mixed berry coulis.
As for the wine, don’t expect a formal pairing. We’ll simply be opening bottles we love. Think of it as a little cellar raid, with some of our favourite producers, older vintages and a few hidden gems we’d happily share around our own dining table.
A few seats are still available for this Wednesday’s Supper Club.
R550 per person, including wine, water and coffee.
