Taking a moment to express the gratitude in my heart for being the one entrusted to stand in the gap on such an auspicious day.

Having been part of The Grillfather brand long before being entrusted with it, I carry more than just the last few months of experience.

I have seen the glory and the grind, and I know the capabilities of those who love the Grillfather.

Today may not have been the best day, but there is always tomorrow.

I know many no longer come to Grillfather because Shane is not here. But if we claim to love Him, then showing love in his absence tells a much more powerful story of the love we truly have.

Each of us has a responsibility in making this brand a success.

Shane once said, Mitchells Plain accepted Grillfather as their own. Many came, but Grillfather is what people chose.

I understand the economy has changed, livelihoods have changed, circumstances are different — but let me tell you, this is still the same Grillfather.

I am not here to build the brand; that has already been done. I am here to water the foundation that has already been laid, and to take it forward and multiply what already exists.

10 years is a long time, but I believe we have another 50 years in us. To show the younger generation that they have something of their own to carry forward.

This is for the young men and women who still need to do this. For the unemployed and struggling to see that this is possible. For the already established to know that your contribution counts. And for the generation we don't yet see, to one day tell them, "Here you are, this is what we've built, now take over."

Thank you for allowing me to be the one in the driver's seat. Although there is one driver, there are many parts that make the driving possible.

Together as a Grillfather family, we can take this forward.

2022, what a year! It challenged us and how; shoo. It took us to get outside our comfort zones, to maintain our sanity but also to be grateful for what we have.
This year has brought us to our knees which is a good place because it is only through God’s grace that we made it to the last day of 2022.
