Meet Our Lead Barista – Thembela aka Mr T

Thembela is our Lead Barista and Operations Manager at Bottoms Up Coffee. Although he doesn’t drink coffee himself, you’d never guess it. As our lead barista, he consistently crafts some of the best cups you’ll ever have. He may not be a coffee drinker, but he’s definitely a coffee dealer. ☕😉

He has been part of our journey since we started the business in 2020 and has played a key role in helping build Bottoms Up into the brand it is today.
Tembela is based at our Biovac site in Ndabeni, where he serves our corporate clients Monday to Friday. In addition to managing our daily operations, he also steps out to lead and assist at our corporate and special events, ensuring the same high standard of coffee and service is delivered wherever Bottoms Up is present.

Known for his professionalism, consistency, and calm approach under pressure, Thembela is passionate about great coffee and exceptional customer service. In most cases, he will be on-site at events, leading our team and ensuring every guest enjoys the quality, efficiency, and warm hospitality that Bottoms Up is known for.
