Announcing Pensioner's Mondays! With immediate effect!

Riverlands Mall is registering pensioners to receive free parking on Mondays as of 28 September but we can't wait! From this Monday coming we have a few pensioner-friendly options.

How about this Avo Toast - R40 only for a slice of toast, a generous helping of Avo, balsamic dressing, roasted tomatoes and sesame seeds.

We open at 7am but there's no rush. Like all our breakfast dishes, this is available all day. So you can enjoy it before or after your shopping.

And when you're done visiting with us, we'll direct you to the Mall's office where you can sign up to park for free from the end of the month.

So here we are on post 5 of our journey through our lunch menu, and we haven't even touched on our classic sandwiches yet!

Below are the BLT, the Club, the Ultimate Cheese and the BARt. All on our own breads (farmstyle, sourdough or bagel) and all paired with fries or a side salad.

We discussed the BARt's vegan sibling, the Onion Bagel in a previous post so we haven't pictured it here - Cashew Cheese (made in-house, where else?), Balsamic Caramelised Onions and Avo. Enjoy it as intended on our bagel, or on wholewheat which is our other vegan bread

It was only a matter of time - we were asked last week to prepare a honey-themed cake for a Baby Shower. Right up our alley!

In this case, the request was for a simple cheesecake. We kept it light and fresh, with a hint of Spring.

If you are interested in a function cake - or a function - take a look at our Events page for some ideas and drop us your request.

From off-the-menu gatherings for 10 people, to a takeover of the entire space, we can tailor the event to your budget and requirements.

And as for the cake - we can scale up and glam up, or we can pull it back and keep it simple. Either way, it will be YOUR favourite flavour and our absolute pleasure to make.

No discussion of our lunch menu would be complete without reference to the "Light Meals" page. These items all work perfectly as sharing plates, but can also be partnered with a side for a light meal for one.

Pictured are our crumbed buttermilk chicken strips, our buffalo wings, our hake goujons and our salt & pepper squid, each paired with the perfect sauce. Not pictured are our cauliflower croquettes.

Options for sides include our triple-cooked fries (shown), roast veg, onion rings, side salad or rustic sourdough toast.

All breads and sauces are prepared freshly in-house from scratch. We hand cut and prepare our own fries too.

So if you can't decide, or if you feel like a variety of different things, bring a friend or two and linger on this page of our menu.

Is it too early in the week to talk cocktails? Our most popular option is that tasty addition to every decadent breakfast, the Mimosa. But we have a range of other classic and specialty cocktails to choose from.

The Pornstar Martini (pictured) is our second-place holder. It's fruity and fresh, and comes with a bubbles mixer or chaser, as you prefer.

We play around quite a lot in the Martini family with everything from Espresso (pictured) to Classic to Marshmallow options.

Our Margaritas come in Classic, Honey & Thyme, and Spicy (pictured); and the Dirty Honey Lemonade (pictured) is one option in our Whisky Sour variations.

Come in and find your favourite. Or send in a suggestion - we refresh our list regularly and are planning for a refresh (pun intended) before the end of September.

The Hot Honey Sando, selection of Burgers (not pictured) or Steak Roll bring a casual touch to our lunch offerings. All three come on our house-made brioche bun and include a side of either fries, or house salad.

The Hot Honey Sando is one of the handful of dishes on our menu that sneaks in a taste of honey in the form of a delicious Sriracha Hot Honey Sauce which coats the delicious fried chicken breast. Our house-made slaw brings balance and finishes the dish.

The steak roll is cooked to your taste, and complemented with garlic butter on the roll, and garlic aioli. Expect juicy deliciousness.

Our burgers (with Frankie Fenner Patties) come as a Classic Cheeseburger, or with a range of sauces - pepper, garlic, mushroom or blue cheese. All our burgers are stacked on the bun with lettuce, tomato, burger mayo and our house-made bread & butter pickles.

Why not book our Study (or Work) and Eat experience to secure a table with a plugpoint? Book a 2 hour slot starting any time between 7:30am and 1pm, Monday to Friday, and make sure you choose "Add Experience".

How? Just browse to our website thebee-stro.co.za and look for the booking icon on any page. Click it, choose your party size, date and time, and the option to "Add Experience" will appear.

The offers are available any time without a booking, provided space is available.

It's never too late for breakfast!

Enjoy anything from our breakfast menu from from 7am until 4pm when we make way for dinner.

If our full traditional breakfast looks like it might defeat you, why not try the half? We just drop the pork sausage, house made baked beans and fries - leaving you with two eggs, real bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and two slices of sourdough toast. Pro tip: bring a friend and order one half and one full to share.

If you're looking for something less meaty, then our vegan avo toast (not pictured) may appeal. Two full slices of our rustic sourdough, generously topped with smashed avo, dribbled with balsamic reduction and topped with roasted tomato and sesame seeds. Some of our regulars have made this a "sharing plate" as well.

Onion Bagel, Cauliflower and Chickpea Curry, Red Pepper Soup with vegan Garlic Bread. Three lovely plant based options for our second post showcasing the range of our lunch offering.

The bagel is home-made and comes with our in-house cashew cheese as well as delicious caramelised onions and avo.

Our red pepper soup has a bit of spice and is topped with basil pesto. Our butternut soup is also vegan, but comes with a cheese toastie; swap out the side if you'd like to order it instead.

The cauli-chickpea curry (not pictured) comes with rice, cucumber raita and a poppadum.

Our August visitor to the cake fridge is an Orange Upside Down cake. Ideal if you feel like trying something new.

If not, then there's all the "usual suspects" - usually two of our most popular cakes and a selection of cheesecake slices, mini loaves, giant cookies and sweet croissants.
