It was so lekker having John Seccombe from Thorne & Daughters and the guys from Liberty W**es join us before heading back home. Liberty has built an incredible South African portfolio, representing and distributing some of our country’s finest w**es throughout the UK and Ireland.

Naturally, we had to send them off properly — with some beautiful dry-aged beef and a few very special bottles.

John has just enjoyed incredible success in Tim Atkin’s latest South African report, once again showcasing the talent and the mastermind behind Thorne & Daughters. And then there’s his brilliant Cape W**emakers Guild Sand Castles 2025 — another reminder of just how special his w**emaking is.

Drink John’s w**es. Seriously. They’re all incredible.
If you have been wanting to trying Semillon, his Paper Kite is the one to broaden your horizons.

And thank you for bringing out two beautiful 2016 Barolos for the table — Sandrone Le Vigne Barolo 2016 and Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Romirasco 2016. What a treat, and even better shared around a table with good people, great beef and plenty of w**e.
