For many, many years, Blue Peter pizzas have been a firm favourite - shared between families, friends and generations, with the ocean in the background and that unmistakable Blue Peter atmosphere.

This Heritage Day, we’re celebrating a little piece of our own Blue Peter heritage by taking you behind the scenes with the team who keep the tradition going. From preparing the dough and adding the toppings to sliding each pizza into the oven — it’s all made right here by our incredible Blue Peter team. 🙌

Because heritage isn’t only about where we come from. It’s also about the traditions, flavours and memories we continue to share.

There’s something special about The Blue Peter that goes far beyond the view, the food and the sunsets.

It’s the people.

The familiar faces who welcome you through the doors, the team behind the scenes preparing every plate, the laughter coming from the kitchen, the pizzas going into the oven, the drinks being poured, and all the little moments that happen before our guests even arrive.

For so many years, The Blue Peter has been a place where Cape Town has gathered. Birthdays have been celebrated here, families have come together, friendships have been made, first dates have turned into anniversaries, and generations have returned to enjoy that same incredible view with a Blue Peter pizza in front of them.

As we move through an exciting new chapter and continue with our renovations, we wanted to share a little more of what happens behind the scenes - because while our spaces may be changing, the heart of The Blue Peter remains the same.

Our much-loved Lighthouse Bar is temporarily closed while we give this iconic Blue Peter space a well-deserved refresh. We know - change can be thirsty work. 😉

But don’t worry, The Blue Peter experience isn’t going anywhere. Our newly renovated Deck is open and ready to welcome you for the views, the vibes, your favourite food and drinks, and those unforgettable Blue Peter moments.

Think of it as the Blue Peter you know and love, refreshed for the next chapter.

THE DECK REOPENS THIS WEEKEND!

And we’re ready to welcome everyone back to The Blue Peter Hotel!

Phase 1 of our renovation journey is officially complete, and we’re incredibly excited to finally share what has been happening behind the scenes.

For generations, Blue Peter has been more than a hotel or restaurant. It’s been a meeting place. A place where families gather, birthdays are celebrated, friendships are made, first dates become anniversaries and some of life’s biggest — and smallest — milestones are celebrated with the ocean as the backdrop.

And somewhere in between all those memories, there has usually been a Blue Peter pizza on the table.

That’s what keeps people coming back after all these years. The views, the sunsets, the atmosphere, the familiar faces, the pizzas but most importantly, the memories and the people who made them.

We’ve refreshed the space and started an exciting new chapter, but we haven’t changed the things that make Blue Peter special.

Sunday afternoons are made for good food, beautiful music and taking your time.

This Sunday, 30th August, join us at The Blue Peter Hotel for our delicious Sunday Carvery, served in our beautiful Cape Town setting.

Enjoy a warming Tomato Soup with house-made buns, followed by Leg of Lamb with red wine jus and Beef Stroganoff, accompanied by house-made salad, mixed vegetables, sautéed potatoes with caramelised onions and Basmati rice. And to finish, indulge in our delicious Carrot Cake.

At The Blue Peter Hotel, live music adds a special touch to our Sunday afternoons, creating the perfect soundtrack to a relaxed lunch by the sea.

This Sunday, our talented cello performer will be joined by a flute, bringing an extra-special musical experience to your afternoon.
