The Boks are back in action, and there’s no better place in Bethulie to catch every tackle, try and triumph than Die Ou Kar Restaurant & Kroeg!

MEET THE TEAM

We thought it would be fun to introduce some of the special people who have helped make Die Ou Kar what it is today. Behind every plate, every laugh and every busy service is a team that feels more like family.

Today we’re introducing Elisa – the mother of our kitchen and one of the true hearts of Die Ou Kar. She has been with us since the very beginning, and honestly, she is as much a part of Die Ou Kar as the Die Ou Kar Burger itself.

A few fun facts about Elisa:

👨‍🍳 If she could cook dinner for anyone in the world:

🍖 Favourite dish to cook at Die Ou Kar:
Karoo lamb chops

🥣 One thing she can’t live without in the kitchen:
A good basic white sauce, because it is so versatile

😂 Funniest kitchen moment:
When she made an Italian pizza for Snotkop and was so nervous and excited that she forgot the most important ingredient — the salami! And who could blame her? He’s not only a celebrity, but also co-owner of Die Ou Kar.

🍽️ Favourite meal when she is not cooking:
Beef stroganoff with rice, pumpkin and green beans

Elisa is loved by the whole team and by so many of our guests. She brings warmth, care and years of experience into the kitchen, and we simply cannot imagine Die Ou Kar without her.

South African sport delivered on every stage this weekend!

🥊 Dricus “Stillknocks” du Plessis once again showed the world why he’s one of the very best, producing a dominant five-round performance to defeat former champion Kamaru Usman by unanimous decision. His pressure, striking and heart were on full display as he successfully defended his place among the UFC elite.

🏆 The Junior Springboks made history by lifting the World Rugby U20 Championship trophy! A phenomenal campaign, outstanding teamwork and fearless rugby saw the young Boks crowned world champions – a massive achievement for the future of South African rugby.

🏉 The Springboks rounded off the celebrations with another impressive Test victory over Wales, continuing to build momentum with a clinical performance that once again showed the depth, passion and quality of South African rugby.

Weekends like this remind us why we’re so proud to wear the green and gold and fly our flag high. 🇿🇦

Congratulations to every athlete, coach and support staff member who represented our country with pride.
