We know everyone wants the opening date.

So do we.

At the moment, we don’t have an exact date to share just yet — not because we’re trying to be mysterious, but because we want to make sure everything is properly ready before we open the doors.

The final touches are happening, the details are coming together, and the next chapter of Kriges is creeping closer.

As soon as we have a confirmed opening date, you’ll hear it here first.

A quick clarification from our side.

Over the past few days, there has been some conversation around the Kriges name, the history of the original Krige’s Pub, Hollow Tree, and the premises we are currently working on.

We would like to make one thing very clear:

We are the new owners/operators of a new business.

We are not the original owners of Krige’s Pub, and the original Krige’s Pub family/business is not involved in this new venture.

The reason we chose the Kriges name is because it still carries a lot of meaning for many people in Bellville. It is a name connected to local memories, stories and history, and our intention has always been to acknowledge that history respectfully — not to claim it as our own.

We also fully respect the Hollow Tree chapter of the venue’s history, and everyone who knew and loved it under that name.

Going forward, we’ll make sure our communication is clearer: this is not a reopening or continuation of the original Krige’s Pub. It is a new chapter, inspired by the history and character of the area.

To everyone who has shared memories, corrections and context with us — thank you. We appreciate it.

Behind the shutters, the work continues — and now we’re looking for the right people to be part of the next chapter.

We’re hiring for front-of-house and back-of-house positions at Kriges, Bellville.

Experience is welcome, but attitude matters most.
