It went extremely well and the little farmstall grew from strength to strength. The farmer soon found out that his customers wanted much more than the small variety of stock he had to offer, so he made the shop bigger and started to sell meat as well. Bread followed, thereafter rusks and other baked stuff which he got from local "boere tannies". Soon enough the farmstall was, once again, too small!
He revamped the building, made it twice the size, only to find out a year later that it was too small again! A Bottle Store soon followed, with a butchery, bakery, and coffee shop in 2012. That also became too small and we had to break and build again to what we have today!
"Toeka Se Dae" - soos dit vandag bekend staan is 'n bymekaarkompunt vir plaaslike, sowel as mense van omliggende dorpe en stede. Hier kry hulle die laaste vleis, drank, koekies, biltong, koeldrank, brood, botter, jam, of persentjies, wat vir die naweek, vakansie of die lang pad nodig is.
