Happy 25th Birthday to our neighbour, Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

Did you know the Millennium Bridge was the world's first tilting bridge? Designed to connect Newcastle and Gateshead while allowing ships to pass down the River Tyne. The Glasshouse was built just a few years later, another piece of the regeneration of Gateshead Quays in the early 2000s.

Congratulations on the big milestone - and on the shiny new plaque marking it's new status as a World Origin Site for this amazing feat of engineering. Right here in Gateshead Quays.
