TEA, CREATIVITY AND COMMUNITY AT HERKITCHEN

HerKitchen is proud to be one of the host spaces for HerSpace in Hoi An—a welcoming place where women, young people and community members can meet, learn, create and share their stories.

On 11 July, we welcomed the HerSpace community, eYAA Cohort 6 volunteers and guests for a meaningful day of tea, cultural activities and connection in our traditional Vietnamese wooden house.

Thank you to HerSpace, Catalyst for Change Vietnam, all partners, volunteers and guests who made this gathering so warm and inspiring.

Today, in the middle of a business networking event in Hội An, the story of HerKitchen was told once more, and for a moment, the room grew quiet, full of emotion.
Van is a single mother with 20 years of experience in education, who decided to step out and challenge herself in a different field, food and beverage to create her own journey with HerKitchen. HerKitchen was never just a business. It tells the whole story of her roots, her beginnings, and her compassion for women who have walked a path similar to her own, especially single mothers. Having lived through a very difficult period after her divorce, raising her child alone, she understands all too well the pressure and the loneliness so many women carry silently.
So she came to believe that HerKitchen's mission isn't only about food or a place to drink, but a space where mothers can come together, learn from one another, and do the kind of work they already know how to do well - cooking, making coffee, brewing tea. Simple, everyday work. But work that can give them confidence, and a real foothold to stand on in life.
To Van, HerKitchen is like a kitchen in the truest sense, a place that starts from the simplest things, yet holds so much care and a mother's love within it. And a mother's love is what builds a home. This is the story behind every cup served at HerKitchen Heritage Tea House, a project built on a mother's resilience, a community of women supporting one another, and tea that carries the memory of a HaGiang childhood in every leaf.
