Some travellers ask why our fish curry tastes a little different.
In the past, families in An Bang grew sweet potatoes in the sandy soil near the beach. When curry was cooked for family gatherings, sweet potatoes were often added — creating a flavour that is comforting, slightly sweet, and deeply nostalgic.
For many Vietnamese families, curry like this was a special dish served during celebrations and big meals shared together.
Our fish curry is inspired by those home kitchens of An Bang — fresh fish, warm spices, and a recipe that carries memories.
It’s also one of the dishes many returning guests come back for.
