Memories of Hoi An in a 70-Year-Old Xi Ma Stall 💛
Some flavors stay with the people of Hoi An through the years, so that whenever they are remembered, people recall not only a dish but also an entire world of memories.
For more than 70 years, the Xi Ma stall of Mr. Ngo Thieu’s family has quietly remained beside the ancient town, preserving its traditional flavor from black sesame, its signature smooth texture, and the gentle sweetness made from the thousand-year-old Ba Le well water.
For many locals, a bowl of xi ma has become a familiar part of childhood and everyday life. People come to this humble sweet soup not only to enjoy its distinctive taste, but also to rediscover the familiar feeling that is uniquely Hoi An.
Through the changes of time, the xi ma stall still quietly preserves a part of Hoi An’s culture and memories in the simplest way.

Ký ức Hội An trong gánh xí mà hơn 70 tuổi 💛
Có những hương vị đi cùng người Hội An qua năm tháng, để mỗi khi nhắc lại, người ta không chỉ nhớ về một món ăn mà còn nhớ cả một miền ký ức.
Hơn 70 năm qua, gánh xí mà của gia đình cụ Ngô Thiểu vẫn lặng lẽ hiện diện bên phố cổ, giữ nguyên hương vị truyền thống từ mè đen, độ sánh mịn đặc trưng và vị ngọt thanh được nấu từ nước giếng Bá Lễ ngàn năm tuổi.
Với nhiều người dân phố Hội, chén xí mà đã trở thành một phần quen thuộc trong tuổi thơ và cuộc sống thường ngày. Người ta tìm đến món chè dân dã ấy không chỉ để thưởng thức hương vị đặc trưng, mà còn để tìm lại cảm giác thân thuộc rất riêng của Hội An.
Giữa những đổi thay của thời gian, gánh xí mà ấy vẫn âm thầm giữ lại một phần văn hóa và ký ức của phố Hội theo cách giản dị nhất.
