𝟬𝟭. 🌊 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿?
Yes. The sea at Orson is generally suitable for swimming throughout the year. January, in particular, is often a wonderful time to swim, relax by the sea and even spot small fish close to the shore.
𝟬𝟮. 🌬️ 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆?
The waves at Orson are usually moderate — enough to make the sea enjoyable, but generally not too strong. Long periods when swimming needs to be stopped because of large waves are not common.
𝟬𝟯. 🏝️ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘆?
Orson is located in the Bến Đầm area on the southern side of Côn Đảo, naturally surrounded by mountain ranges. This sheltered location generally means less wind compared with some areas in the centre and north of the island.
𝟬𝟰. 🏊 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗲?
Yes. Guests can still enter the sea when the tide is high. The seabed directly in front of the resort is relatively flat, with firm sand underfoot.
𝟬𝟱. 🪨 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵, 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘆?
There is a natural sandy area along the main swimming entry. When the tide goes out, more of the sandy area becomes visible.
There are some smooth, rounded stones in certain areas, but there is no coral directly along the main entry point.
𝟬𝟲. 👣 𝗗𝗼 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀?
Not necessarily. Many guests are comfortable entering the water barefoot. However, water shoes can be a good option if you prefer additional protection and comfort around the areas with stones.
𝟬𝟳. 🛟 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵?
Yes. Our beachfront area is monitored by staff who are available to support guests when needed.
𝟬𝟴. 🚩 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺?
We currently do not use a traditional beach flag system. Our beach is located inside a relatively sheltered bay with a fairly flat shoreline, and the beachfront area is also supported by camera monitoring for regular observation and guest safety.
𝟬𝟵. 🪼 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗷𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆?
We have not experienced any significant jellyfish issues at Orson’s private beach recently. The water in the bay is generally clear and clean.
𝟭𝟬. 🛵 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻?
It is approximately 𝟱 𝗸𝗺 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘆, or around 10 km for the round trip.
𝟭𝟭. 🚴 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆?
There are some gentle uphill and downhill sections following the island’s natural landscape, but there are no particularly high or difficult climbs.
It is also a beautiful route to explore by motorbike or bicycle, with quiet coastal roads and mountain scenery along the way.
𝟭𝟮. 🚴♀️ 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸?
Yes. For reasonably fit cyclists, the approximately 10 km round trip is certainly manageable.
We often see guests cycling around Côn Đảo in the morning and enjoying the island’s peaceful roads and natural scenery.
