💍🥞 Bridal Shower Brunch — J McKee’s Style! 🥂

We had so much fun catering a beautiful bridal shower brunch today! 🤍

The bride’s crew wanted something a little different, and we were ALL about it. On the menu:

🥞 Pancake skewers
🫐 Açaí parfaits
🍓 Fresh fruit
🍳 Egg casserole with hash browns
🥯 Toasted bagel bar with cream cheese, avocado and all the fixings
🍅 Deconstructed bruschetta

Fun, fresh, colorful and definitely not your average shower spread!

One of our favorite things about catering is creating a menu around what YOU want. It doesn’t have to be traditional, and it definitely doesn’t have to come from a set menu. Have an idea? Let Chef Jason run with it. 👨‍🍳

🏹 Apparently, hunting works up an appetite… a BIG one. 😂

We’ve recently been hired to provide dinner three nights a week for several weeks for a group of hunters—and Chef Jason is making sure nobody is heading back to camp hungry!

🍝 Sunday night’s lineup:
Homemade lasagna, caprese salad & garlic bread
🥧 Chocolate Turtle Pie with bourbon caramel sauce
🥥 Coconut Cream Pie

🍗 Last night:
Jason broke out his NEW Tuscan Chicken and I’m just going to say it… TO. DIE. FOR. 🤤
Green beans with bacon & roasted redskin potatoes
And because apparently one pie would be unreasonable… 😂
🍌 Banana Cream
🍋 Lemon Meringue
🥜 Peanut Butter with chocolate shavings

🐷 Tonight’s menu:
Pulled pork, cowboy beans and—you guessed it—a couple more pies. 🥧

At this point, I’m not sure if these guys are more excited about hunting or finding out what Jason is making for dinner. 😂

Meanwhile, I’m over here wondering how I get invited to hunting camp without actually having to hunt. 🤷‍♀️😂

We love getting to do jobs like this—good homemade food, happy customers, and an excuse for Chef Jason to keep adding things to the menu!

👩🏻Meet Carrie McKee: The Woman Behind the Posts

Well, I guess it’s time to introduce myself!👋

I’m Carrie, wife of Chef Jason, 👨🏻‍🍳self-appointed social media manager, self-made professional vegetable chopper 🔪(no formal training, just years of unpaid experience 😂), and the go-to person for the running around if we forgot something for an event!

Jason is the talent in the kitchen. ⏲️I’m the one behind the Facebook posts and have approximately 900 screenshots 🤳of food ideas that I fully expect him to recreate. 😂

He does the cooking. I make sure everyone knows about it. And apparently, I chop the onions.🧅

But here’s the part I love most…🩷

I absolutely LOVE watching Jason do what he loves. 😍There’s something pretty special about seeing someone you love light up when they’re doing what they were meant to do. 🥘Cooking is his passion, and watching him turn that passion into something bigger has been one of my favorite parts of this whole adventure.

What started as a love for feeding people has turned into a family adventure involving catering events, cheesecakes, a food trailer, endless ideas, and a husband who probably regrets telling me we should start this adventure. 😂

And if Jason tells you we’re too busy to take on another event…

🚨 SURPRISE!!! We’ve been keeping a little secret… 🚨

Apparently the catering van wasn’t enough… so naturally, we bought a FOOD TRAILER. 😂🤦‍♀️

That’s right — J McKee’s Catering is officially ON WHEELS! 🚚🍴🎉

We are SO excited about this next adventure! Our new trailer gives us even more ways to serve you. We can bring it along to weddings, parties, festivals and community events — or set up completely on its own when you just need some really good food. 🙌

And while we’re making introductions… meet Sam, Carrie’s son. 👋😂 Because when you’re part of a family business, you’re part of the team whether you applied for the job or not. 🤣

He earned his position today by hauling our newest adventure home for us. 🚚👏

We’re not exactly sure what his official job title is yet, but “Guy We Call When We Buy Something That Needs Hauled” is currently at the top of the list. 🤣

That’s one of the things we love most about this adventure — J McKee’s really is a family affair. From cooking and catering to hauling trailers and everything in between, everybody gets recruited eventually. 🖤

Debi had a tough choice… cheesecake or charcuterie?! 🤔

She went with charcuterie boards because her husband isn’t a cheesecake fan (we’ll forgive him 😂), and she wanted to choose something they could enjoy and share together. ❤️

Chef Jason got to work, and we think these boards turned out pretty darn good! 🧀🍇🥨
