💛 Leave It Better Than You Found It

That’s a value we’ve always tried to live by.

As we close this chapter at our most recent location, we’ve spent the past several days cleaning, repairing, and making sure the property is left in excellent condition. We may be moving on, but we believe in respecting the people and places that have been part of our journey.

The idea is simple: leave no trace—except for gratitude.

Now our focus shifts to our former location on Foothills Boulevard, where we’re preparing for the next five years of Hula Hut.

This move isn’t just about changing addresses. It’s about investing in the future.

We’re excited as we create a better experience for our customers, improving the property, and establishing a long-term home where we can continue serving our community for years to come.

Every chapter teaches us something. This next one is about putting down roots, building with longevity in mind, and creating something even better than before.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to have all of you along for the journey. 🌴💛

Stay tuned, the best is yet to come!

🌴📦 Something is Happening at Hula Hut…

We’re moving….back to our former location!

Change can be unexpected, challenging, exciting, and rewarding—and we’re here to tell you it’s all of the above. 💛

The good news is that we’re moving back to our former location off Foothills Boulevard.

The even better news? We’ve negotiated a 5-year lease, which means we’ll finally have some long-term stability and won’t be packing up and moving again anytime soon!

That’s a huge win for us because moving is expensive, confusing for customers, and a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes.

As we return to our former location, we’re excited to make it even better than before. The quieter setting, safer parking, and more inviting atmosphere will help us create the relaxed, neighborhood gathering place we’ve always envisioned.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our landlord, Sherry, for believing in our business and helping make this possible.

We’d also like to thank our wonderful neighbor, Rosa at Baja Blue, whose support and friendship have meant so much throughout this transition.

They say it takes a village, and we’re grateful to be part of one.

We’re excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to welcome everyone back this fall. 🌺

🌴💙 Father’s Day Salute to Our Big Kahuna 💙🌴

Jeremy and I were busy building careers early in our marriage. Between military service, deployments, long commutes, and life moving at full speed, starting a family wasn’t part of the plan.

Then one day, everything changed.

A news article caught our attention. It featured a young man who loved dogs and horses and was looking for his forever family.

The connection was instant.

Before long, a family of three was created—not through biology, but through love, commitment, and a shared belief that family is built with the heart.

Today, that young man, our son, is a father himself, and one of our greatest joys is watching him with his own family. We couldn’t be more proud to be both parents and grandparents.

Jeremy has always led with a quiet strength, a generous heart, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loves. Whether serving his country for 26 years, supporting his family, or flipping burgers at Hula Hut, he shows up every day with the same dedication and care.

To our Big Kahuna, and to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, adoptive fathers, and father figures who make a difference in someone’s life—we hope you have a very special Father’s Day. 💛

🍔🔥 Food Truck Owners Know Good Food When They Taste It!

If you ever find yourself in the beautiful port of Victoria, do yourself a favor and stop by Murder Burger.

Their smash burgers were absolutely amazing—crispy edges, juicy patties, and everything a great smash burger should be. 😋

One of the best parts of the experience was getting to chat with the owner, Jody, for a bit.
Super friendly, passionate about his business, and the kind of person you can’t help but root for.

As fellow small business owners, we love meeting people who put their heart into what they do.
Great food is important, but great people make the experience even better.

Thanks for the hospitality, Jody.
We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Victoria! 🍔💛

🥵☀️ Triple Digits in Yuma!

Well, Yuma has officially reminded us who’s in charge. 🌡️🔥

Now for the important question…

What’s the over/under on how many days it’ll be before we see 99° again?

Earlier than October
1st week in October? 😂
2nd week in October
3rd week in October
Later?

As for us, we’re currently doing the A/C Jive:

🏠 House
🚗 Car
💪 Gym
🚗 Car
🫎 Moose Lodge
🛒 Grocery Store
🚗 Car
🏠 Back Home

Rinse and repeat.

We’re getting cabin fever already, and it’s only June! 😆

So tell us, fellow desert dwellers…

💭 What’s your most unhinged way to stay cool this summer?

Movie Theatre?
Gym for hours?
Grocery Store trips every day?
All the Dr appointments you can get
Or are you also mastering the art of the A/C shuffle?

Alaska Cruise Summary
The trip of a lifetime

Day 1 – Seattle Departure 🚢

We started our Alaska adventure aboard the Cunard Queen Elizabeth.

As Seattle faded into the distance, the excitement finally became real. We spent the afternoon exploring the ship, settling into our cabin, and watching the coastline disappear beyond the horizon.

There is something special about sail away day—the anticipation of the unknown, the promise of adventure, and a week of making memories together.

Alaska bound ❤️

Day 2 – A Day at Sea 🌊

Today was all about slowing down and enjoying life at sea.

Morning coffee on the balcony. Long walks around the promenade deck. Afternoon tea. Watching endless ocean views drift by.

One of the things we love most about cruising is that sometimes the best days aren’t spent rushing from place to place—they’re spent simply enjoying the journey.

Day 3 – Wrangell, Alaska 🦅

Our first Alaskan port was the charming town of Wrangell.

Unlike some of the larger cruise destinations, Wrangell feels authentic and untouched. Eagles seemed to be everywhere, fishing boats lined the harbor, and the surrounding wilderness reminded us just how wild Alaska truly is.

A beautiful first glimpse of the Last Frontier.

Day 4 – Sitka, Alaska ⛰️

Surrounded by mountains and ocean, Sitka feels like a postcard come to life. The combination of Russian history, Native Alaskan culture, and incredible scenery makes it unlike anywhere we’ve ever been.

Every turn seemed to reveal another breathtaking view.

Day 5 – Ketchikan, Alaska 🐟

Colorful buildings, floatplanes overhead, and a lively waterfront welcomed us to Ketchikan today.

We wandered through town, explored local shops, and soaked in the rich culture and history that make Ketchikan so unique.

This town has a personality all its own and was an incredible place to spend the day.

Day 6 – Juneau, Alaska 🏔️

Towering mountains surrounded the harbor, reminding us once again that everything in Alaska seems bigger, grander, and more dramatic than anywhere else.

From the moment we stepped ashore, we were surrounded by stunning scenery and the kind of beauty that makes you stop and simply take it all in.

Juneau did not disappoint.

Day 7 – Endicott Arm 🐋❄️

A day we’ll remember forever.

Sailing through Endicott Arm felt like entering another world. Waterfalls cascaded down sheer cliffs. Icebergs floated past the ship. Every direction looked like a scene from a nature documentary.

Later that night, we stood at the bow watching for whales until nearly 11 PM before finally giving in to the cold and heading back inside.

A little later, we turned on the ship’s live bow camera and suddenly saw two whales playing directly in front of the ship.

We ran to our balcony.

There they were.

Two whales swimming right alongside us.

For several magical moments, they surfaced beside the ship before disappearing into the dark Alaskan waters.

Of all the incredible things we’ve seen on this trip, this was the moment that took our breath away.

Day 8- Sea Day

Day 9 – Victoria, British Columbia 🌸

Our final stop before returning home was beautiful Victoria.

After days of glaciers, mountains, and wilderness, Victoria offered beautiful gardens, historic buildings, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere.

It was the perfect final chapter to an unforgettable journey; with full hearts and memories we’ll be talking about for years.

Homeward Bound ❤️

As our Alaska cruise aboard the Queen Elizabeth comes to an end, we’re reflecting on an incredible week of adventure.

From Wrangell to Sitka, Ketchikan to Juneau, the glaciers of Endicott Arm, and our unforgettable whale encounter, every day brought something new and memorable.

The photos will help us remember the sights.

But it’s the moments—the laughter, the wonder, the quiet mornings at sea, and the whales swimming beside our balcony—that we’ll carry with us forever.

Until the next adventure. ❤️

A few photos from our Alaska cruise aboard the Queen Elizabeth. 🚢

I have to admit… Jeremy, the Smash Burger Guy, cleans up pretty well. 😍

After spending most of the year behind the grill in a Hula Hut t-shirt, seeing him dressed in a tuxedo for Cunard’s Gala Evening was quite the surprise. Looking pretty spiffy, if you ask me!

Now I’m thinking we may need to introduce a new tradition when we get home…

Formal Smash Burger Sunday. 🍔🤵

Imagine ordering a double smash burger from a guy wearing a tuxedo.
If anyone can pull it off, it’s Jeremy.

What do you think? Should the tux make an appearance at Hula Hut for special occasions?

🐳💙 Whale Watching in Alaska — WOW!

Last night was absolutely incredible.

We counted more than 100 whale spouts from the ship alone! 🌊🐋

Everywhere we looked, there seemed to be another blow in the distance. Some were close, some were far away, but each one reminded us just how amazing nature can be.

There’s something magical about standing on deck, surrounded by mountains and ocean, watching these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Moments like this make you stop, put down your phone, and simply soak it all in.

Alaska continues to exceed every expectation. 💙

💭 Have you ever seen whales in the wild? What wildlife encounter has left you speechless?

☕🚢 Slow Living… Cruise Ship Style

One of our favorite things about this trip has been embracing a slower pace.

The day usually starts with coffee in bed, a plate of pastries and fresh fruit, followed by a second breakfast at the Lido buffet. (Vacation calories don’t count, right? 😄)

Then it’s time to layer up in rain gear and head ashore to explore whatever adventure awaits in the next port.

One unexpected highlight? Finding the Sitka Moose Lodge. 🫎

It was the perfect place to step away from the crowds, visit with locals, and enjoy a quieter side of town. Sometimes the best travel experiences aren’t on the itinerary at all.

We’re learning that slow living isn’t about doing nothing—it’s about taking the time to appreciate the little moments. The morning coffee. The conversations. The scenery. The unexpected discoveries.

And Alaska has given us plenty of all four. 💙
