I think about this word a lot. When I started bloodroot I played with even naming the shop this. I like thinking about the metaphorical and literal hearth. The heart of a home, a space or community that provides light and warmth.
I think about how we can cultivate our own hearth craft for these challenging and literal and metaphorical dark times. As the seasons change and the northern hemisphere gets dark how do we continue to keep our light? How do we light up our communities?
To me hearth craft is the work of care craft, heart work and passion. The fire that ignites inside of us when we feel violated, silenced, powerless, and see injustice, can easily spread. The fire from the hearth can burn it down so we can start again, with new heart centered ways.
I want to make a little zine titled heath craft because there is much more that I could talk about this.
