WTPOF is continuing our work, and we are grateful to be moving forward together. The season begins soon, and we are looking to fill intern positions now — read on and apply today.

We The People Opportunity Farm (WTPOF) is a paid internship program for formerly incarcerated individuals, rooted in the belief that every person is capable of growth, contribution, and meaningful change. Through hands-on farm work, professional development, and community support, interns gain practical skills, build confidence, generate income, and take real steps toward breaking the cycle of incarceration and rebuilding a life of dignity and purpose.

The program runs April 13 – Nov. 13 (~20 hours/week @ $21/hr). If you or someone you know has been impacted by the “justice” system and is looking for a supportive, purpose-driven environment, we invite you to apply today - and to help us spread the word by sharing this post!

🎞️ FROM THE ARCHIVES 🎞️

this building look familiar to you? Bridge lives here. And before the space was Bridge, it was another coffee shop named after a war plane. And before that, another coffee shop, and before that, another. In this photo, the gas company. Still, something else in another. Bridge lives on a road now called Michigan Avenue that extends from Waawiyaatanong (Detroit) to Gaa-zhigaagwanzhikaag (Chicago). This road wasn’t created hundreds of years ago, but has actually been a part of an important route system that has existed for thousands of years, created and maintained by Indigenous people long before colonialism reached the area. This is your reminder that this was, is, always will be Native land. I’m saying this here because there are a lot of people who would be happy if you forgot, and they would benefit greatly from you forgetting.

Something for everybody — hot, cold, great for immunity, sweet or astringent… we tried to mix it up this time and come up with a menu to last us the season. As we prepare to host more bar nights, let us know what you wanna see in our non-alcoholic drinks!! Should we get back? Should we start using ? More hop water based drinks? Andddd, like, can we get CBD drinks yet? 🍃💞

Did ya know we have our own 🔥 hot cocoa 🔥 and that we always have vegan marshmallows & use quality ingredients to make you happy and keep you healthy. nutmeg, cacao, and cocoa balanced out with organic cane sugar and a lil bit of sea salt so that everyone will enjoy it. but nutmeg & cacao are actually sooo good for you 🥰 and who doesn’t appreciate warming ingredients at the beginning of winter months? other menu items filled with warming ingredients include the sweet potato hand pie and the mundo & chai lattes 💞🔥

Come celebrate with us all weekend long 🥰 we wouldn’t be here without you or all of the amazing people in our community who constantly put in the work necessary to build community up 🥹 Bridge is better and cooler and does more real work than I could have ever dreamed up or imagined and it’s because of all the love & care so many have continuously poured into it. 💞 this weekend we will be focusing on SUSTAINABILITY& Local Art & Natural Products & Swapping Books & Networking & all these Amazing vendors/artists/creators. 💞 would there have been a better way to celebrate? Lmk so I can start planning next year 🤔😂
