🍳 BREAKFAST REMINDER 🥞

Did you know Ursuline High School serves breakfast every school day? Breakfast is available from 7:30 a.m. through the first bell.

Each day features a rotating hot entrée, along with up to two fruit choices (one may be juice) and milk. Breakfast is $3.00 for paid students and $0.00 for students with free or reduced-price meal benefits.

Not hungry first thing in the morning or running short on time? Students can choose a grab-and-go entrée instead, including assorted cereals, pastries, and Uncrustables. These are easy to take along and save for later in the day.

Breakfast is there when they need it — whether they eat with us in the morning or grab something for later. ☘️

📢 Free & Reduced-Price Meal Benefits – 2026-2027 School Year

Direct Certification notifications for the 2026-2027 school year were mailed last week. If your family received one of these notifications, no application is required. Your student has already been approved for meal benefits.

No further action is needed unless you wish to decline those benefits. The signature line included with the Direct Certification notification is only for families who choose to waive meal benefits.

Meal benefit eligibility is determined annual. If you did not receive a Direct Certification notification for the 2026-2027 school year and believe your household may qualify for free or reduced-price meal benefits, you are encouraged to submit a new application.

The preferred application method is through PaySchools Central, where the online meal application is available at no cost to all households:
https://www.payschoolscentral.com/

If you are creating a PaySchools Central account for the first time, or adding a new Ursuline student to an existing account, you will need your student's 5-digit Ursuline Student ID. If you need assistance locating that number or completing the setup process, please contact me.

Complete instructions for creating a PaySchools Central account, adding your student, submitting an online application, and other available PaySchools Central features are available on the Child Nutrition Program website:
https://tr.ee/A_lZWjP8kb

Families who prefer to complete a paper application may request one at no cost. A printable PDF application is also available here:

Families of Ursuline High School,

There are two summer programs of interest for your households; (1) Sun Bucks, which provides monetary assistance for financially eligible households, and (2) Sun Meals, which provides free meals for ALL children ages 1 through 18. A summary of the programs is listed below, and more information is available at https://linktr.ee/ursuline.irish.cafe.

SUN BUCKS Information:

Students who currently attend Ursuline High School and receive free or reduced-price meal benefits have been automatically enrolled in the SUN Bucks | Summer EBT program, which began in 2024 and continues for 2026. This program provides grocery benefits to these households when schools are closed for the summer. Summer EBT benefits will either be loaded to a household’s Ohio Direction Card, or a benefit card will be sent in the mail to each eligible child.

Families can use the money to buy food during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers. Families will receive a one-time benefit of $120 for each eligible child and participation will not affect children or families' immigration status.

If your child doesn't receive free/reduced school meals, but you believe that your child might be eligible, you should apply for SUN Bucks at https://sebt.ohio.gov/application.

SUN MEALS Information:

The Summer Food Service Program meals have a new name, now called SUN Meals! All children ages 1 through 18, regardless of meal status, are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites. Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals.

Please note, Ursuline High School will not be serving meals this summer, but all children ages 1 through 18 can visit any open site found on the location finder map, which goes live in late May as summer meal programs begin. Check the linked page weekly for updates to the map and find summer meals throughout the summer.

For more information call 1-866-3-HUNGRY (486479), or visit https://education.ohio.gov/.../Summer-Food-Service-Program.
