Day 155 Update 🔥

Carlos, Whitney, and I tackled cleaning the majority of the exterior and interior lights today while Rick was outside with us working on event emails, paperwork, and all of the behind-the-scenes stuff that still has to keep moving.

The lights will be going into storage for now, and hopefully next week we’ll get to add some personalized touches and give these old lights a whole new vibe that better fits the new interior design of the restaurant.

It’s one of those smaller projects, but every little thing we can get done now gets us one step closer.

Next up: grab some paint and brushes and get our next workday planned. 🎨💪

And now there are only 3 more days until we finally get to reunite with you guys! ❤️

We hope to see you this Saturday, August 29 from 5 to 9 PM at the Victory Club on Ogontz Street in York for our final employee fundraiser.

We’ll have live music from The Roy, Feeling Good Garage Band, and Oscar’s Box, caricatures, a silent auction, and a special menu created by the Victory Club. 20% of food sales will go directly to our employee fund, along with the proceeds from the fundraiser.

There is a $10 non-member fee at the door, and seating is first come, first served.

We seriously cannot wait to see everybody again. Please share, tag your friends and family, and come out to show the Victory Club just how much this community knows how to show up. ❤️🔥

Day 154 Update 🔥

Behind the scenes, there is still a lot of work being done on the blueprints, and inside the restaurant we are continuing to tackle everything we can while we wait.

IDC Mitigation came in this week and finished sealing all of our natural wood after giving it one final cleaning. They also gave the cement walls in the basement another deep cleaning using a pressurized ice blast to remove what was left after the damaged material was cut away. After that, they applied a final seal coat to the walls to lock in any remaining smoke odor.

There is still a lot of work ahead, but we are trying to make the most of every bit of downtime we have.

Yesterday and today, at least 10 people came out to help us assemble chairs. It was definitely a lot of work, but one of the best parts was getting to catch up with some of our staff while we worked. We got a huge amount done, and now we can officially say we are one step closer.

We are still waiting on 20 more chairs to arrive, so we are not completely finished yet… but we are getting there. ❤️

And don’t forget: ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT until our final employee fundraiser!

📍 Victory Athletic Association on Ogontz Street in York

It is first come, first served, so come early, grab some food, enjoy the music, bring your friends and family, and help us make this last fundraiser a big one.

We cannot wait to see all of you again soon. Until then, we just keep moving forward one step, one chair, and one day at a time.

See you Saturday at the Victory Club! 🔥❤️

🔥 DAY 149 UPDATE 🔥

We’ve been a little quieter lately, so here’s where things stand. ❤️🦅

Our current goal is to reopen sometime in December. We are still waiting on final blueprints and permitting, so there isn’t much physical work happening at the restaurant until those permits are in our hands.

Behind the scenes, though, we’ve been busy with order lists, paint colors, design decisions, equipment and all the little details that have to come together before we reopen. That’s a big reason social media has been quieter. There just hasn’t been much construction progress to show yet.

We do have one big update about the Boss Man. ❤️

Rick had a knee replacement yesterday and came home today! He’s doing well, in good spirits and already on the road to recovery.

Hopefully this means he’ll be running those stairs even faster to help all of you at your tables once we reopen. 😂❤️

And if you want to come check on him yourself, come see us at our FINAL staff fundraiser:

📍 Victory Athletic Association

This is our final fundraiser benefiting our Eagles Nest employees who have been displaced since the fire.

For 149 days, this community has checked on us, supported our staff, donated, shared our posts, attended fundraisers and reminded us over and over that the Nest has not been forgotten.

We will never be able to fully explain what that has meant to our family and our staff. ❤️

Come spend one more fundraiser with us. Come check on Rick, hug our staff, grab some food, listen to great music and help us close out this chapter the same way you’ve helped us through all of it:

Together. ❤️🦅

We love you guys.

December, we’re coming for you. 🔥

Hey everyone!! ❤️

Recently, Mike, the owner of M&M Construction, Plumbing & HVAC, introduced me to Jordan and the amazing staff at September House in downtown York, and I have been completely blown away by what they do for our senior community.

They provide meals, a safe and welcoming place to spend time, games, activities, trips, special events and, most importantly, a sense of community and connection for the people who rely on them every day.

The work happening inside September House means so much to so many people, and after seeing it firsthand, I really want to find a way for our community to give some of that love back.

September House needs a new roof, and I’ve been brainstorming ways we could help raise the money to make that happen.

So here’s where I need all of you. 🎶❤️

I would LOVE to help organize a large benefit concert for September House, and we’re looking for some incredible bands and musicians who could help us put on a show big enough to make a real difference.

Who are your musical connections?

Who do you know in bands, booking, entertainment, venues, production or the local music community?

We’re dreaming BIG with this one. We want to put together an amazing event, bring our community together and raise as much money as possible toward getting September House the roof they desperately need.

Please tag your musician friends, bands and entertainment connections below, share this post, or send me a message if you know someone who may want to get involved.

York has shown time and time again what can happen when this community rallies around people who need us.

Let’s do it again. ❤️

There really aren’t enough words to thank this community for the way you have loved and supported us since the day of the fire. ❤️🦅

From day one, you showed up.

You checked on our family. You supported our staff when they suddenly found themselves without the place they came to work every day. You donated, shared our posts, attended fundraisers, sent messages, stopped us in public to ask how things were going, and continued reminding us that you haven’t forgotten about us.

Before we say anything else about August 29, we want to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our employee fund.

Thank you to the businesses and individuals who donated their time, food, services, raffle and auction items, and spaces.

Thank you to everyone who came to our previous fundraisers, made a donation, shared an event, or simply showed up for our people.

You have helped take care of our employees during one of the hardest chapters Eagles Nest has ever faced, and we will never forget it. ❤️

We also want to give a very special thank you to Local 21 News for continuing to follow our story and helping keep everyone updated on the progress we’ve been sharing here on Facebook. It means so much to know that even while our doors are closed, our story and our people haven’t been forgotten.

Because the truth is…

We miss you guys.

And when we say that, we really mean it.

One of the greatest things about Eagles Nest has always been the relationships that have grown inside those walls, and Abby and Michael are such a perfect example of that. ❤️

Abby and Michael were actually friends of our family long before we ever bought Eagles Nest. But once we took over the restaurant, they quickly became regulars too, and before long, they weren’t just close with our family anymore. They became close with our entire Nest family.

They got to know our staff. Our staff got to know them. They became familiar faces around the restaurant and part of that group of people who helped make Eagles Nest feel like so much more than a business.

Yesterday, I got to celebrate Abby with her bridal party, friends, and family, and it was one of those days that reminded me just how special the relationships surrounding this restaurant really are.

And somehow the day ended with Abby and me swimming in the pond, getting some much needed one on one time to catch up. 😂❤️

Abby, girl, you are truly one of my best friends. I love you with my whole heart and you are like a sister to me. I am so incredibly happy for you and Michael, and I wish the absolute world for you both. I cannot WAIT to watch you two tie the knot! 💍❤️

And THAT is what we mean when we say Eagles Nest is a family.

We miss our staff. We miss our regulars sitting at the bar. We miss the birthdays, anniversaries, family dinners, packed weekends, laughter coming from the dining room, and even those crazy nights when nobody had time to stop moving.

We miss seeing our friends walk through those doors.

We miss watching our friends become friends with our staff.

We miss watching all of those different relationships turn into one big Nest family.

We miss our people.

We miss you.

And we really, really miss our Nest. ❤️🦅

And now we finally get another night together.

And guys… their food is NO JOKE.

If you haven’t eaten there before, you’re in for a treat. They have gone out of their way to put together something special for our crowd, and we are incredibly grateful to them for opening their doors to us and helping make this final fundraiser feel like a true Eagles Nest family night.

Plus, we’ve got plenty happening throughout the evening:

🎶 THREE LIVE BANDS

• The Roy
• Oscar’s Box
• Feeling Good Garage

🎨 Caricatures from 6:00–9:00 PM

🎁 Silent Auction

👀 And a few more surprises throughout the evening!

❤️ 10% of food proceeds

This is our final fundraiser.

After this, our sights are set on what we’ve all been waiting for:

Getting our staff back to work and getting those doors OPEN. 🦅🔥

So whether you’ve attended every fundraiser, donated from afar, shared our posts, or simply continued cheering us on, thank you.

You have already done more for us than we could ever adequately put into words.

August 29 is our chance to get together one more time before we’re hopefully gathering somewhere much more familiar.

Come hungry. Come ready for some great music. Bid on something in the silent auction. Get a ridiculous caricature of yourself. 😂 Have some fun with us.

But most importantly…

Come let us see you.

We’ve spent months talking to you through a Facebook screen.
