✨ A NEW CHAPTER FOR WALLFLOUR CAKES ✨
For a long time, I’ve been trying to do it all.
Work a full-time job. Be a wife and mom. Take care of a family, a home, my zoo and all the chaos that comes with life… while somehow finding the time and energy to build a business and chase a dream that has meant so much to me.
And the truth is, it’s been hard.
Wallflour Cakes has been built in the hours before work, after work, late at night, on weekends, and in every little piece of time I could find. There have been exhausted mornings, sleepless nights, stress, tears, missed moments, and plenty of times when I wondered how much longer I could keep trying to do everything at once.
So I made a choice.
I chose the dream. 🩷
I made the decision to leave my full-time job and finally give Wallflour Cakes the time, energy, creativity, and love that I have always dreamed of giving it.
Is it scary? Absolutely.
Do I have every single detail figured out? Not even close.
But I know that if I never give this dream a real chance, I’ll always wonder what if?
So here we go. 🥹🧁
I’m officially going FULL TIME with Wallflour Cakes!
And I absolutely cannot talk about this next chapter without talking about some very special people who have been a part of this journey.
Georgianna Doornbos you were there when Wallflour Cakes was still just an idea and a dream. 🩷 Thank you for helping me create it, start it, and believe that it could actually become something. You were part of building the foundation of Wallflour Cakes, and no matter how much it grows or where this journey takes me, you will always be an important part of its story. Some people help you chase a dream, and some people are there when the dream is first born. Thank you for being there at the beginning. 🥹🩷
Ayla Spencer , you are truly one of the most incredible people I know. You are smart, kind, hardworking, dependable, and always willing to jump in and help with whatever crazy idea I come up with next. 😂 You have become so much more than someone who helps me at the shop—you are family, and I genuinely don’t know what I would do without you. 🩷
Hope Triplette , you have believed in Wallflour Cakes and helped me with the behind-the-scenes craziness, technology, social media, ideas, and all the things that make my brain want to explode. 😂 Your support, creativity, and willingness to help me turn my million ideas into something real mean more than I can say. 🩷
And of course, my family. 🩷 Thank you for putting up with the late nights, the flour and frosting everywhere, the endless orders, the stress, the crazy ideas, and all the times Wallflour Cakes has taken over our lives. 😂 Thank you for sacrificing alongside me, believing in me, and supporting me as I take this huge leap. I could never do this without you.
And my mom Ora Higginbotham and Karen Baker thank you for always being there. For listening to every idea, every worry, every breakdown, and every dream. For helping when I need it, encouraging me when I doubt myself, and believing in me even when I’m scared to believe in myself. 🥹🩷 Having a mom who supports my dreams and stands beside me means more than I could ever put into words.
Wallflour Cakes may have started as my dream, but it has taken a whole village to get me here. I am so incredibly lucky and grateful for mine.
And to every single person who has ordered a birthday cake, picked up a sweet treat, shared a post, recommended me to a friend, supported one of my crazy ideas, or simply told me that I could do this—thank you. You have helped build Wallflour Cakes more than you know.
This next chapter is about more than cakes. I want to build a place that our community loves—a place for beautiful custom cakes, delicious sweets, loaded teas, grab-and-go treats, new ideas, and all the fun things I’ve dreamed about bringing to York.
This is scary. It’s exciting. It will probably be a little chaotic. 😂 But I’m ready.
It’s time to stop squeezing the dream into the leftover hours.
It’s time to give the dream a real chance.
🩷🧁 Wallflour Cakes is going FULL TIME—and we’re just getting started. ✨
