The perfect side trip open Saturday's from 11am till 4pm. Over 52 display cabinets, Lucy Lane's Diaries, check out the Daggett Ditch and so much more. And while you are in Daggett be sure to drive by our 2 Historical Landmarks, The Stone Hotel and Alf's Blacksmith Shop where 20 Mule Team Wagons were built.

Talk about Calico history this beauty will be up at Calico this coming weekend for Calico Days. Original 20 Mule Team Wagon built in Daggett and ran from Daggett to Borate and back, 11 miles one way, 3 day round trip. Ted Faye (look him up) will be there to answer all your questions, he is the expert on the 20 Mule team Wagons and we are lucky to have him join us.

CAN YOU BELEIVE IT???? It has been over a 130 years since I was born and raised in Daggett at Alf's Blacksmith Shop. Everything has changed so much, the buildings, the town, but when I saw the Blacksmith Shop I cried, I'M HOME. All the trips back and forth from Borate, second wagon handling load after load of Borax. I may be old and weathered but I can still get around just fine. I live at The Rio Tinto Borate Mine in Boron with my two other siblings. We have an awesome visitor center at the mine, free to see and only a few miles off the 58.
My thanks to everyone at the mine for letting me come to Daggett for a visit. I will be on display in front of the Blacksmith Shop on Saturday September 7th for Daggett Pioneer Days. If you cannot catch me there, then I will be at the Mojave River Valley Museum on September 25th for the 52nd Annual Mini BBQ. Dinner is from 4pm to 7pm museum open all day. My last stop will be at Calico Days September 28th and 29th. Look for me next to my sponsor The Calico House Restaurant. Going to bring my friend the Chuck Wagon with me so come by and say hi, learn some real history. Hope to see you soon.

CALICO HISTORY IS DAGGETT HISTORY!! COME SPEND THE DAY, SEE AN ACTUAL 20 MULE TEAM WAGON BUILT IN DAGGETT. THEN TURN NORTH AND HEAD TO CALICO, THE SALOON WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 8PM SERVING PIZZA, WINGS, HAMBURGERS, BEER AND MORE. BET YOU WILL SEE AN OLD WEST GAME OF CHANCE AND SKILL GOING ON OUTSIDE ON THE DECK.
