Interbeing is a concept popularized by Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh. Interbeing is the idea that all things in the universe are interconnected, with each entity existing only because of the existence of others. Our actions and existence are inextricably linked to everything else in the cosmos. Buddhist Wisdom Bookclub!
Putting out the invitation to see if there is enough interest in forming a monthly reading and discussion group at the Green Salmon. Meetings on each book to be first Monday of every month at 6:00pm with tea and light snacks.
We do have printed take-away info sheets at the shop for you to grab regarding the first three books; We will then vote on future selections as a group. This is a non-denominational group as Buddhist teachers write about methods and tools for life that everyone can find helpful!
April's reading assignment will be 'Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet" based on the teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn (We do have copies available at the Green Salmon but it is readily available at most booksellers and on Kindle) The first discussion
meeting will be Monday, May 4th.
May's book is 'The Book of Joy' by Daili Lama and Desmond Tutu and the June book is the latest from Pema Chodron- 'Another Kind of Freedom' .
