Hello. My name is Albert Ngo, and Iโm the eldest son of the owners at Chicken โNโ Eggroll.
I just wanted to extend a warm thank you to the Wyoming community throughout the pandemic in support of my parentโs family restaurant and for all the support this community has shown to us since we opened up almost 20 years ago.
We cannot stress enough how grateful we are for the support and relationships that you have fostered with my parents and with Chicken โNโ Eggroll throughout the years. Your support put me through law school, put my brother through college, and continues to give my parents purpose to this today.
Weโve just unveiled online ordering for our service, and my parents are a little reluctant but excited to try this โnewโ (new to them) way of ordering. However, given the wave of Asian American discrimination across other parts of our country, I cannot help but feel worried for my parentโs safety as we begin to streamline ordering and open up our customer base to a broader audience.
Lately, there has been a wave of discrimination facing Asian Americans across the United States ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Luckily for my parents and for Chicken โNโ Eggroll, our business did not suffer.
Luckily for us, we were fortunate in being located in our welcoming and kind community here in Wyoming.
And luckily for us so far, no danger has befallen on my parents.
Others have not been as lucky. My stomach churns every morning when I hear about another elderly man or elderly woman attacked, assaulted, or even killed, for no reason other than intolerance and hate. I want to bring awareness to you of the fact that there have been almost 3,800 reports of hate and bias towards Asian Americans.
As such, I am writing today to plead to you, the Wyoming community, to please be aware of this wave of hate and intolerance, and to remain vigilant and to keep an eye out for my parents as you are stopping by to pick up our food.
Nothing brings my parents more joy than being able to continue serving food to this community, and I want to do everything I can in my power to ensure that they can keep doing so without fear of their own safety and well-being.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued support.
