We are bummed to report that there will be no Sip & Chat at our Woodhaven cafe today due to a family emergency. Woodhaven will still be closing at 2:00pm, Wyandotte will be open with regular business hours.

Four years ago, we pulled our little coffee trailer into the Wyandotte Plaza parking lot for Lush Hair Lab’s second Harvest Moon Festival.

At that time the plaza was essentially vacant aside from 1 store and Lush Hair Lab. There was a handful of other vendors set up in the front lot & we had the absolute best time serving the Wyandotte community that day. There was something about this place that just instantly felt like home to Tyler and I.

After that event, we started going back & forth about what it might look like for Kekoa to someday have a brick & mortar. We knew that if we were going to have a forever home for Kekoa we wanted it to be in Wyandotte. Becky + Brittney from Lush were so welcoming & helped us so much as we navigated what that dream could look like.

Now four years later, we get to look around at the special small businesses that fill this place and we feel so incredibly thankful for Harvest Moon for leading us here.

Today is the 5th Harvest Moon Festival, our plaza is full of life & ready to have the parking lot filled with small businesses & the people of our beautiful community. We have all our fall staple drinks ready to go, plus caramel brulee + galactic pumpkin cream tops to finish them off.

Note, we are open with regular business hours all day but the festival is open from 12:00pm-3:00pm with live music from 12:30-2:30 and a meet + greeet with Jack Skellington from 1-2pm. Additional parking is available across the street in the Yack parking lot.

Wyandotte has a huge batch of fresh organic bagels that went out this morning, these are not made with the stone ground wheat though, just regular ole’ delicious organic flour. We feel like this is our best batch yet and would love some feedback.

Our oven setup should be done by next week and we anticipate having bagels available at our woodhaven cafe shortly after. Thank you all for your patience as we navigate these huge + exciting changes in our business. We are learning new things as we wait and appreciate the support in the mean time.

Y’all sold us out of bagels last week in THREE HOURS!

We’ve got another batch of freshly baked bagels available today at our wyandotte cafe + roastery only while we wait for the last piece of equipment to get hooked up.

We’ve put so much thought + intention into these, using quality organic ingredients, including organic stone ground Michigan wheat from Stony Croft Farm, a local Michigan organic grown wheat farm that mills their grain right on the property.

We’re still working through the final pieces of getting our full in house baking setup up + running, but y’all’s excitement for these bagels has been so encouraging & we couldn’t wait to make some more.

Fresh batch of our Bourbon Barrel Aged Guatemala hits our shelves at both cafe locations again this week.

These beans were rested for four weeks in a Two James Black Thorn Bourbon Barrel, giving them rich notes of toasted coconut, dark chocolate, vanilla + cloves.

The last round of this coffee flew off the shelves, so if you loved it last time or have been wanting to try a bag, snag a bag while it’s here.
