Good morning, Riversiders! ☀️

What an absolutely beautiful day we have ahead of us. If you’re planning on spending some time down by the river, hitting the trails, going for a hike, riding your bike, fishing, kayaking, or just getting outside and enjoying the sunshine, we hope you have an amazing day.

And if you find yourself getting hungry along the way, we’d love to see you at Riverside Subs!

We have so many different options on our menu, from our cheesesteaks and specialty subs to wraps, salads, hot dogs, appetizers, and plenty more. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch or something to fill you up after a day outdoors, we’ve got you covered.

Also, don’t forget that we’re now open on Tuesdays from 12 PM to 7 PM. We know a lot of people have been asking for another day to stop in, and we’re excited to be here for you six days a week.

Before I go, I just want to say thank you. Because of all of you, Riverside Subs has made it into the Top 3 for both Best Sub Shop and Best Cheesesteak. Next month we’ll find out who takes home the top spot, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of. To even be mentioned among the best is an honor, and it’s only possible because of the support this community continues to show us every day.

👔 FATHER’S DAY GIVEAWAY

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and we want to celebrate the dads and father figures who make a difference every day.

Nominate a father or father figure in the comments and tell us why they deserve to be recognized. Whether it’s your dad, stepdad, grandfather, uncle, coach, mentor, or someone who has always been there when it mattered most, we want to hear their story.

A few weeks ago, these three came to me with an idea. They wanted to start their own little business offering lawn mowing, yard work, and other services around the community. Like most kids their age, they could have spent their summer sleeping in or playing video games. Instead, they chose to get to work.

Almost every morning, I’d hear, “Dad, we have to get up by 9:30, we have a job to do today.” They would head out looking for opportunities, talking to neighbors, and taking on whatever jobs they could handle. Nobody was forcing them. They were motivated because they wanted to earn it themselves.

In just one week, they made over $1,000. Watching their work ethic, determination, and excitement has been incredible. It reminded me that age doesn’t determine what you’re capable of. Hard work, consistency, and a willingness to put yourself out there do.

I’ve always tried to teach them that if you put your mind to something and work for it, you can accomplish amazing things. Seeing them put that lesson into action has made me incredibly proud.

If you’re looking for lawn mowing, yard work, or help with small projects, these young entrepreneurs would be happy to give you a hand. Support local, support young entrepreneurs, and help them continue building something special.

We’ve heard from so many people that Tuesdays were the one day they wanted a sub and couldn’t get one, so we made a change. You can now stop in six days a week for your favorite sandwiches, cheesesteaks, wraps, salads, and more.

Let’s talk about restaurant prices for a minute.

A lot of people see a menu price and think restaurants are just raising prices because they want to. The reality is that nearly every restaurant owner in America is fighting the same battle right now.

Here are some real numbers:

• Ground beef is up roughly 15% to 19% from last year and is sitting at record highs.

• Wholesale beef prices are up more than 14% compared to this time last year.

• Steak prices are up around 16% year over year.

• The U.S. cattle herd is currently the smallest it’s been in more than 75 years, creating supply shortages across the country.

• Beef prices have increased approximately 75% since 2020.

• Cheese and dairy products continue to trend upward, with many products costing 20% to 30% more than they did just a few years ago.

• Tomato prices are up roughly 50% from last year.

And that’s before talking about labor costs, insurance, utilities, paper products, cleaning supplies, rent, payroll taxes, credit card processing fees, and everything else it takes to keep the lights on.

At Riverside Subs, we spend hours every week comparing suppliers, negotiating pricing, shopping different distributors, and looking for ways to save money without sacrificing quality. We don’t want to be the place that keeps raising prices, and we work extremely hard to absorb as many increases as possible.

The truth is that small businesses are dealing with the same economy everyone else is. We see the higher grocery bills. We see the higher fuel costs. We see the higher operating expenses every single week.

Our goal has always been simple: serve great food, provide a fair value, treat our customers right, and continue being a business our community can count on.

We’re going to keep fighting to give you the best value possible while continuing to serve quality food and support our employees.
