I just want to take a moment to speak as Lilia, not just as one of the owners of La Toxica.
Today was emotional for me in so many ways. After everything that happened, seeing the amount of people who reached out, defended us, supported us, shared kind words, and reminded us how loved La Toxica truly is honestly brought me to tears..
When you put so much of yourself into a business, situations like today hurt on a very personal level. La Toxica isn’t just a restaurant to me. It’s something we’ve worked incredibly hard for, sacrificed for, stressed over, cried over, and continued fighting for even on the days when things haven’t been easy. As a mom, some of the hardest sacrifices have been the time I’ve had to give up with my daughter, to be here and keep this place going. There have been long days and late nights where I wished I could’ve been home with her instead, and that’s something I carry with me through all of this. She is one of the biggest reasons I work as hard as I do and why I want so badly for this place to succeed.
So to see our customers and our community stand behind us the way you did today… I don’t even know if I can fully put into words what that meant to me.
I read your comments. I saw your messages. I saw you sticking up for us. And I felt every bit of that support. 🥹❤️
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for reminding me why we keep going. Thank you for believing in us, supporting our little restaurant, and making me feel like we aren’t doing this alone.
Today may have started with a lot of hurt and emotion, but I’m ending it feeling incredibly grateful.
