Many of you joined us at Velvet the past few Fridays as Chef Michaelangelo Wescott brought his culinary magic to Velvet at the Worthington Golf Club. Those evenings were filled with insanely wonderful food, laughter, and community. Michaelangelo and the Velvet team want to thank everyone who came out to join us in our collaboration.

As life often does, it has taken us in a slightly different direction. Michaelangelo is going to take another bite at the ‘Apple 🤭 and is reimagining apple as a taco restaurant, with his son chipping in.

Building and running a restaurant takes tremendous courage, heart, and dedication, and we wish him every success.

While our collaboration was shorter than either of us expected, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work together, to learn from him, and even more grateful that our love and friendship remains strong.

Who knows when—but I predict we will see special guest chef appearances at Velvet from time to time.

In the meantime, Velvet will be open this Friday, and we look forward to serving dinner in his style.

Thank you for supporting local restaurants, local chefs, the people who work to make an evening out a little more special, and thank you for making the trek our little corner of the Berkshires. We are fortunate to have such an amazing community.

And to MA, all the love in the world. Here's to your continued success. ♥️♥️♥️

This Sunday July 12th at Sevenars.

Sunday July 12, we are also so happy to welcome back Alexis Walls, who gained recognition for her violin artistry as a young child and now enjoys a varied career as music educator and performer. She will pair up with Lynelle James in a Heifetz arrangement of the Gershwin Preludes.

Alexis began her professional studies at age 12, upon acceptance to the studio of Shirley Givens at the Juilliard pre-college and in 1995 made her solo debut with the Island Chamber Symphony. In 1998, she performed as a concerto soloist at The Kennedy Center. Winner of numerous prizes, she also performed widely with the Kende Trio, a string trio established with her two younger sisters in 1997 (all of whom played at Sevenars!). The ensemble has performed nationally and internationally, most notably for Pope John Paul II in Rome.

Alexis completed her undergraduate degree at Princeton University where she received 1st prize in the university's concerto competition, performed as soloist with the Princeton University Orchestra, and studied chamber music with the Brentano String Quartet. She also obtained a performance and pedagogy masters at Peabody Conservatory and a degree in performing arts administration at New York University. She has since held various management positions at Lincoln Center and other performing arts organizations in Manhattan.

She has directed the World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra in New York, an ensemble of pre-college students from Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music, the Manhattan String Orchestra, and the Metropolitan String Orchestra (MSO). alexiswallsmusic.com

Happy Fourth of July to all of our friends and family. I am so proud of this extended community that celebrates a peaceful coexistence. Wishing happier times for all of us.

And as a small PSA, we figure it is far too hot for anyone to want to go out to dinner without air conditioning, so we are giving the team the night off on Friday July 3rd and won't be hosting dinner. The bar will be open though and we do have ice cream. ♥️

Kinda awesome when the band thanks us for having a good time. I am so proud of the team we've assembled.

It's a vibe up here. Dinner on Fridays, and a couple of concerts coming still. 🫶🏻

Worthington Golf Club! What a night! The Berkshires crowd showed up to celebrate and enjoy some of the best music to ever come out of the South! Singin' and dancin' as the moon rose was quite a sight to see from the stage. We cannot thank the staff and sound company enough for their professionalism and for making our stay flawless and enjoyable, top notch all around.
..And Helen, a very heartfelt thank you to YOU. You always go above and way beyond for us, you are a very special person. Being able to bring our families along this year was so wonderful, thank you for everything that you do and for making their visits special as well. The kids had a blast and made memories that will last a long, long time. THANK YOU!

Until next time, turn it up!

Tonight there is a full moon. We try to host concerts under the full moon because it is so spectacular to watch the moon rise when you're sitting on the lawn listening to music. As far as the beauty of the place, and the cost of tickets 🙀 Tanglewood has nothing on us.

Hope to see you. Skynyrd is an amazing show.

Let's face it. A full moon brings out something special in each of us. ♥️

Free Summer Junior Golf Programs.

This year, we will be running two age-specific Junior Golf Leagues in Worthington, but please note there will be NO Junior Golf Clinic.

The leagues will run on Thursdays: July 9, 16, 23, and 30, and August 6 and 13. We need parent volunteers to assist with supervising our youngest players; without enough help, the youngest league will not be able to run. Please let us know if you are willing to assist when you respond.

Here are the details for the two leagues:

Oldest League (Ages 13–17)

- Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (or until 9 holes are completed).
- Format: Students will be partnered weekly to play formats such
as scramble, best ball, scotch foursome, or Pinehurst.
- Requirements: Students must have and carry their own golf clubs
and bags (or use their own pull cart). Proper attire is required
(sneakers or golf shoes, appropriate shirts, and pants/shorts).
Sunscreen, water bottles, and hats are highly suggested. Proper
golf etiquette must be followed.
- We will provide tees, ball markers, and used golf balls.

Youngest League (Ages 8–12)

- Time: 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM (playing up to 5 holes).
- Format: Students will be partnered weekly to play a modified
scramble, teeing off from the 150-yard markers.
- Requirements: Adult supervision is required for each foursome.
Students must carry their own bags or have a pull cart. Proper
attire (sneakers or golf shoes, appropriate shirts, and
pants/shorts) and proper golf etiquette are required.
- Note: Exceptions to the age limit may be made if the student has
participated in the summer program for at least 2 years. Please
contact us directly with any questions regarding this.
- We will provide tees, ball markers, and used golf balls.

If you would like your child to participate in either league this summer, please reply by July 2 with their name, age, and upcoming fall grade so we can finalize our plans.

Best regards,

Coach and Marcia Estelle
