Why do some conversations go off the rails — especially when stress enters the picture?

Join the Wooster Area Safety Council on Wednesday, Oct. 28, for “Blame It on the Brain: Understanding Communication,” featuring Tiffany R. White, LISW-S, Vice President of Clinical Services at The Village Network.

This session will explore how the brain influences communication and behavior, particularly during moments of stress, and how understanding those responses can help us communicate more effectively.

Attendees will learn the “Regulate, Relate, Reason” approach and practical strategies for navigating difficult conversations, building connection and responding to the needs behind behavior.

That’s right — 100 dachshunds racing through downtown Wooster.

It’s our 10th anniversary, and we’re hoping to make this our biggest race yet.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the families, first responders, service members, and countless others whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the courage, compassion, and unity that emerged in the days that followed. May we never forget those we lost, and may we continue to carry forward the spirit of kindness, service, and community that brought people together in the face of tragedy.
