We’ve got a new local artist being featured in our upstairs seating area! Nicholas Cain
Here is the artist’s statement on this show that will be running continuously:
ASBA-Art Should Be Affordable

This show is to encourage a radical change in the perception of art as an investment or commodity. I believe art should not be subject to market forces but rather appreciated through the interpersonal connection between the artwork and the viewer themselves, leaving all money aside. I believe art is an essential human need as is food, water, sleep and shelter. This is why I am offering my work to be purchased based on a pay what you can premise.
In addition to these efforts of decoupling the market from my artwork, I am embracing the success of our future artist by contributing 15% of all purchases towards a developing scholarship fund which will help support young and emerging new artists. The Young Artist Meetup or YAM fund aims to help cover costs associated with entry fees tied to juried exhibitions, booth rental costs, art related application fees, along with other financial barriers that may hinder their talents from reaching broader audience.
