Hi friends.
This is miserable news. But we will be closing doors by the end of the year.
I'm obviously devastated on many levels. I hate that my little staff are losing their jobs soon. I hate that many people put their faith in us and we couldn't overcome the obstacles. I hate that I simply couldn't do more by myself, and that a few points of truly bad luck hit us and people I care about really hard.
This is a brutal business to undertake in any economy and community. We learned hard lessons that cost our financial security and were, frankly, humiliating. But I will never forget that this was my husband's love letter to me; his literal willingness to "put his money where his mouth is." Mitch wanted me to get out of middle management, away from corporate BS, and believed in me enough to buy a business and empower me as leader and host.
Poor man... But we've got employees we treasure, a bunch of five-star reviews, a growing, loyal customer base, and incredible vendors. It just didn't happen fast enough.
So the TL;DR is; Porkies 2.0 is probably going to close on Christmas Eve with our holiday pickup orders. If we can find anyone to sublet our space/take over our commercial lease, that would be stellar.
In the meantime, I ask that you, your friends, colleagues, and neighbors please come in and eat. In just the past few months, our menu has really solidified into something cozy and special, and I don't think you will find service as genuine and personal anywhere else.
Please help us go out with a celebration, not a dirge. Let me know in advance if I can reserve tables, set aside certain dishes, prepare special requests, or even open outside of my usual hours.
