For May, we are participating in the One Hope United Sip & Share for Foster Care fundraiser, and for every purchase of our homemade Lasagna, we donate a dollar to One Hope United.

This cause holds a very special place in our family. As we support children in need, we find ourselves thinking of our grandfather, Norman Meske — affectionately known to all of us as "Bup." Bup was orphaned young and spent his childhood in foster care during the 1910s and '20s. He would speak fondly of those years, especially of the meals his foster mother prepared for him — a warmth that stayed with him his whole life. He went on to serve his country with distinction in the U.S. Navy during World War II, among the earliest ranks of the legendary "frogmen."
