To the Oak Tree rd Woodbridge/ Edison Community and our beloved customers of Khasiyat,

It has recently come to our attention that a rumor is being spread about the supposed owner of Khasiyat. At Khasiyat, we value our honesty and commitment to our customers - our attitude when addressing these rumors will be no different.

The rumor being circulated alleges that the owner of Dimple/Khasiyat/Bombay Talk has passed away due to COVID, and that his wife is currently in a critical situation.

Let’s be clear - this is NOT true.

First, it is important that we distinguish our locations and services from those of others: Bombay Talk and Khasiyat are separate businesses. Furthermore, the only one person associated with Bombay Talk to have been diagnosed with COVID-19 is the founder, Dilip Mehta, who has been in retirement for 5+ years and has not been involved in restaurant affairs during this period. Sadly, he was critically ill and passed away at JFK Medical Center this week.

Our current owner, Payal Mehta, has done her utmost to ensure that Khasiyat continues to be a beloved and safe staple of Edison. We here at Khasiyat take every precaution in our operations by ensuring that all our employees wear approved masks and maintain appropriate social distancing.

In a time where support is needed, please do not engage in these false rumors by spreading them on social media - this hurts not only our family at Khasiyat but our Oak Tree community. With the day to day uncertainties of COVID, it is not productive nor is it fair to continue to spread rumors such as these that hurt real people.

Instead, we would appreciate if you could send your prayers and thoughts towards our Khasiyat family and those suffering from COVID-19. As a community, we can do better than spreading gossip. Please help us keep Woodbridge/ Edison strong.

Khasiyat Restaurant East Windsor is now open for take out and delivery and is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our staff, customers, and community amidst the rapidly evolving COVID-19. We are vigilantly following the guidance of government officials and health organizations and we are continuously monitoring developments in New Jersey, nationally and worldwide.

Your safety and health is our utmost priority. At this time of crisis, we will not participate in "coronavirus-inspired price gouging" and we will not impose unjustifiably high prices on our consumers. Our prices will not change and we are dedicated to serving our community with fair pricing at our restaurants.
Additionally, in lieu of shortages of groceries our restaurants are fully equipped and prepared to serve our community of patrons.

We are taking additional steps to ensure our restaurants remain a safe place for you and your loved ones to take out and have meals delivered. Delivery services will be available on the following platforms: khasiyat delivery, Uber Eats, Door Dash, and Grub Hub.

In the meantime, here is a list of best practices we have put into place to protect and prevent you to control the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure the best health practices overall:

1. No staff showing any signs of sickness will be allowed to work.
2. Staff showing signs of sickness on site will be sent home immediately.
3. 3X daily disinfection of all kitchen surfaces, equipment, doors, bathrooms, customer surfaces and high touch areas.
4. Gloves will be worn by staff.
5. Hourly hand washing of staff will be mandated.
6. Hand sanitizer stations will be on-site.
7. Thermometers provided to check for fever of any employee who seems sick.
