The staff finally convinced me to move the Market Report up to the dining room—so I figured I’d bring dessert to celebrate. 🍏

​They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but around here, we prefer doing things George Washington’s way: baked golden, flaky, and topped with a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream.

When a pit springs a leak, style goes out the window—you just get the job done.

​Huge shoutout to Dave Bugie for coming to the rescue with some serious metalwork to keep the smoke rolling here at Dixie Bones Barbecue.

​Between unexpected pit repairs and wholesale brisket jumping another 7% this week, running a real wood-smoke barbecue kitchen never has a dull moment. Cabbage and Idaho potatoes are climbing, buttermilk and red potatoes are down, and egg prices are holding high. The market changes defy explanation, but our commitment to scratch-made barbecue never changes.
