🍎 Apple Picking season is here, and let me break the day down for you at Great Country Farms.
🎟️ You can purchase your tickets online and get a text sent to you so all you have to do is click it at the door and you’re good to go!
👧 This farm is great for little kids (10 and under). They have a mini putt-putt course, things to jump on, tons of playgrounds, mazes (corn, bamboo and rope) as well as little slides throughout.
🥤 The food is very basic, but good (I am also easily pleased). Pizza, pretzels and chicken nuggets were the main things I saw on the menu. I got chicken nuggets and a can of diet coke and it was right under $13 total. Best part, tons of places to sit so you don't have to wait to eat. They also have a bakery so you can buy apple cider donuts and ice cream there too.
🐷 They have tons of farm animals all over the place! Goats, sheep and chickens plus a couple of pigs that you can feed!
🚽 The bathroom situation (hey, it matters) was fantastic. There's a designated building (no porta-potties) with stalls, and it also included a baby changing table.
🍏 The apple orchard is just a small tractor ride away where you can pick until your heart is content. Everything is weighed and paid for at the orchard. They also sold a few drinks there if you got thirsty while pickin'.
🐞 Let's talk bugs. There were many. Makes sense with farm animals and fruit, so plan ahead! Bring bug spray or a handheld fan if you get irritated by them easily. Nothing bit me, but they were flying around constantly.
➡️ Check them out if apple picking is on your fall bucket list- I really enjoyed the drive there, the views and the vibes. I didn't feel rushed and it wasn't crowded (might be because it was 90 degrees out), but I liked it!
