Our last post regarding our VA coffee partners focuses on the longest wholesale relationship that we still have.

Catherine Clark Molina and her family own and operate the beloved Willow Grove Farm Market in Luray, VA, and we have been doing business together since April of 2012. The Clark family history, though, goes back several hundred years being attached to the land they farm today.

When we first began delivering coffee to this farm market her son was just a baby and was by her side in the retail store every day it was open. We share some wonderful parallels having both raised our children actively in our businesses.

We are grateful to everyone who still purchases our coffee at Willow Grove Farm Market, and it was super to catch up with Catherine!

Alright, so next up, we need to push our travel days a bit out of order to talk about strictly coffee visits, and we'll come back around to a few of the VA non-coffee stops we made in subsequent posts.

As our trip neared it's end we ventured to Ashland, VA, and dropped in on Michael, Julia and Kaiya at Front Four Cellars Vine & Bean in a surprise visit, and oh were they surprised to see us walking through their door. Locals in Wolfeboro know they also own the downtown w**e bar, Front Four Cellars of NH right here in town.

Interestingly, they and we both brought businesses to Wolfeboro, NH, that already existed in VA, BUT in this case, the VA coffeehouse is a new venture for Michael and Julia that expands their passion for w**e into a crossover experience where coffee and espresso were already present, and they are now adding their w**e-making capabilities to the space, too.

We didn't take near enough pictures as we were busy talking with Kaiya while she was behind the bar after she made us a cappuccino and Americano from our Canvas de Barista Espresso Blend.

The Bilodeaus first started using our coffee in early 2024 when we worked with them to create their w**e coffee that some of you are eager to enjoy again. That product will be created again in the very near future.

Just started the coffee roaster in Wolfeboro this evening and realized we need to get through the rest of our "VA visit stories" so we can move back into current events this week.

Stop number three from exiting our plane straight into driving was still in Northern Virginia and an account that has been selling our coffee since 2014 at their grand opening.

Messick's Farm Market has grown and grown in the Bealton, VA, corridor over the last twelve years of operation and has now greatly expanded their offerings. Some are made/grown on-site, and some are still provided by off-site companies like ours.

It was great fun to stop in and see how they have grown!

We returned from our Virginia visiting/meandering late last night and got a little sleep just in time to make it to some of Kade's Homecoming/Parents' Weekend activities today, starting early this morning. Hence, why our cafe is closed in Wolfeboro today.

We think we have the ability to put this year's coffee mugs to great use. So, thanks for those, SNHU!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone again when we re-open this coming Wednesday!

Our next coffee stop in Virginia came from a suggestion of Dave Matthews himself after he stopped at Roast-n-Toast and posted that everyone should stop here for coffee...so, we did!

This coffee account is not one that has our coffee in it, but Nino, Maiya and Luke graciously took care of us and answered all our questions. When Dave Matthews stopped by with his daughter, this cafe had only just been open about eight weeks. So, in true Dave fashion, he brought them some attention and brought people through their doors.

Nino has taken a crash course in coffee roasting and does their coffee roasting nearby in a shared roasting facility where multiple businesses share the same roasting equipment to roast each businesses coffee. Their first passion is creating their wonderful baked goods including a variety of cinnamon rolls that are the size of your head!

We're really glad we stopped by after the suggestion we saw on the Dave Matthews Band Instagram page!

What a week it has been dropping into our oldest coffee accounts in Virginia!

As soon as we landed, the first place we headed was Meadows Frozen Custard - Reston. We landed in pouring down rain, so a little custard and custard/espresso affogato was just the thing to enjoy before we hit the busy Washington DC area roads for further travel.

The owner, Michael, had first located his original location in One Loudon, but the business recently located to the new home in Reston.

Meadows Original Frozen Custard is a franchise with many locations around the U.S., and Michael chose our espresso blend to use in his original location when it opened in May of 2014, and we've been shipping it to his stores ever since!

We're grateful for that!

LRC fans, we have soooooooo much to convey in various photo drops to come regarding our week closed this week, but TODAY it is super important that we celebrate Kade who is turning TWENTY!

He was just born when we started the Lucas Roasting Company journey, and this journey in our family business has been all he's known of work for Jennica and I.

As many of you have come to love him in his time at our cafe, we can't say enough about the incredible young man he has become by our sides and in the world on his own with friends. All who know him know the peace they feel when he's around them, and we are so grateful for that gentle spirit he brings to our world.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Kade! We love and appreciate you so very much!!!
