Hello Checkers Fans! It is unfortunate that we even need to address this, but after it has happened multiple times over the last year, we feel the need to not only address it, but to take more action on it. Like many fast-food restaurants, we have a lot of young staff who are enjoying their first work experience, and although they're not perfect and may not always get it right (just like the rest of us!), they are trying! Unfortunately, some customers have felt the need to take their frustration from encountering a long wait, a missing item, etc. out on our cashiers. Our young cashiers have had bags of food, burgers, and drinks thrown at them through the drive-up window by ADULT customers. I am absolutely sickened by this behavior and can't even begin to imagine how someone would think that throwing food or drinks at a cashier is justifiable. From here on out, we will be contacting the police if a customer feels the need to throw ANYTHING at our staff. If you happen to be the man that lost his cool over not receiving a straw last night (because we legitimately ran out) and proceeded to throw your drink at our 16-year-old employee, we have your license plate number and have been in contact with the authorities. To the man who threw his burger at our 14 year old employee a few months ago, we unfortunately didn't have your license plate number, but after talking with authorities, were informed that you could be charged with battery or assault...of a minor. Yikes, that'd be a fun one to explain. Like I said, we all make mistakes...if you encounter one, just give the store a call and we will take care of you.
On a positive note! Tomorrow is going to be a hot one, but we have all the shakes, slushies, and ice cream stackers you could need to stay cool! And when those employees are hustling to get your goodies, remember, it is REALLY hot in there.... but they still don't want a soda shower. ;) Have a great day and stay safe in that heat!
