We did it! We finally have a location locked down! Approved by the town and landlord. Grounded's new location will be 21 Common Drive in Boothbay right next to the common! Follow along for renovations on the building & opening date! 😃 ☕️

We like to support local, and help other businesses thrive. We have chosen to continue using the same coffee beans 🫘 not just because it makes an amazing cup of joe, but we love a great start up story!

I've shared it with you below:

Coffee on the Porch in Camden, Maine.

Retired teacher, noted photographer, and master roaster, Dan Dishner, spent many evening and weekend hours experimenting with different origins of beans from around the world in pursuit of creating the perfect cup of coffee.

Dan tried various combinations of several origins and roasts levels until he came up with perfect combinations. Amen Again was among the first that commanded a hands thrown up in the air followed by a shout of “WHOA I DID IT!”

A unique fun fact about Coffee on the Porch is that it was never intended to be a business. It was always about enjoying delicious coffee and sharing it with family and friends. Dan & his wife Judy began inviting family and loved ones over on Friday mornings to delight in Dan’s artistry.

One of these friends convinced Dan to start selling his creations, and slowly but surely the word got out: first to friends and acquaintances, then online and in a few local stores. Over the next few years the buzz spread and COTP gained a loyal following. Coffee on the Porch was born and is now in over 40 local stores, schooners, restaurants, and cafes and enjoyed by coffee lovers and connoisseurs across the country.

Since we are currently not open and I do not have any fun updates to share yet. I figured we could start some conversations every morning.

Coffee or tea? Which are you starting your morning with?

I'll go first! I prefer iced coffee even on these snowy mornings. I made myself a nice iced coffee with white chocolate drizzle on the cup, and a sweet vanilla bean & butter cold foam.

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and give some updates. Grounded will temporarily be closed for a few months as we search for a new location and change a few things around.

Hello! 👋
We are your new owners, Allie Marquette and Kyle Farmer. We are SO excited to start this new venture and create a great coffee spot and connect with the community! A little bit about us, we have a small homestead located in East Boothbay, 4 kiddos and a dream of creating a comfortable, welcoming place you can come to enjoy a delightful cup of coffee. ☕️
We will be keeping the name Grounded, we also will be keeping the same local coffee beans from Coffee on the Porch - Same great taste. 🙂
