Dear Friends and Valued Guests,
Over 30 years ago, Chef Vincent Gagliano and his wife, Teri, moved to Florida to begin their life together. After meeting in Mexico and marrying in Vincent’s small hometown of La Roche Blanche, France, they knew they wanted to raise their family in the United States. With Teri’s parents living in Kissimmee, the two settled on a charming little nearby town called, “Winter Park.”
Vincent began working locally as a chef until the opportunity came to open a place of his own. That dream became a reality 28 years ago when Chez Vincent opened its doors in the Hannibal Square district. With the help of family and friends, Vincent and Teri built a welcoming restaurant that quickly became a favorite for those seeking classic French cuisine and warm hospitality.
In 2007, they expanded with Hannibal’s Lounge, offering a relaxed setting for cocktails, celebrations, and time with loved ones. Together, Chez Vincent and Hannibal’s became beloved parts of the Winter Park community and lasting fixtures in its dining scene.
From the very beginning, this has been a true family endeavor. Vincent and Teri’s four children grew up in the restaurant, and nearly every family milestone has been celebrated here — birthdays, surprise parties, first communions, graduations, dance team and student government dinners, engagements, weddings, and countless moments in between. Even elementary school field trips made a stop to see Chef Vincent bake his famous croissants. Chez Vincent and Hannibal’s have always been more than restaurants; they have been part of the Gagliano family’s everyday life and the backdrop to so many treasured memories.
Over the years, Teri and Vincent have been honored to receive numerous awards, including being named “Best French Restaurant.” Among their proudest moments was hosting the legendary Chef Paul Bocuse, who was Chef Vincent’s lifelong idol, for dinner. The couple has also supported cherished local traditions such as the Winter Park Farmers Market, Magical Dining, and the Winter Park CRA. Their goal has always been simple: to serve good food, create lasting memories, and be part of a community they love.
Today, we share that Chez Vincent and Hannibal’s have been sold to a respected local chef and restaurateur that is excited to announce soon. We are confident that this team will continue the tradition of quality and care that has defined these restaurants. We hope you will show them the same kindness and support you have shown us.
As the Gagliano family closes this chapter, we do so with deep gratitude. These past 28 years have been a dream come true, filled with friendships, laughter, and memories that will stay with us forever. Now it is time for Vincent and Teri to enjoy retirement, spend more time with family, and embrace the next adventure. If you see Chef around town or driving one of his classic cars, give him a wave and a warm bonjour.
Please join us for one final meal and a toast to nearly three decades of wonderful memories. Our last day of service will be December 21.
Merci pour tout,
With all our love and appreciation,
The Gagliano Family
