Two years. 160+ pounds. A lifetime of lessons.
I know this isn’t a bakery post, but I also know a lot of people quietly struggle, and I wanted to share something personal.
This video popped up in my memories today from exactly two years ago. I didn’t even realize that’s when this journey truly started.
I’m not sure what my highest weight actually was. I know I saw the scale hit 407 pounds, and I believe it got even worse before it finally started getting better.
Today I’m over 160 pounds down, and I can’t even describe how different life feels. Walking is easier. Moving is easier. Everything is easier.
That doesn’t mean the journey is over.
Every single day is still a choice. There are days when it’s easy, and there are days when I have to consciously make the right decisions. The old habits don’t just disappear.
I’ve finally started donating clothes because they’re all too big now. It’s a great feeling… but it’s also strange because when I look in the mirror, I still see the old version of myself sometimes. I know that part takes time too.
If you’re just starting your own journey, don’t give up because the finish line feels impossible. Don’t let one bad meal, one bad day, or one bad week convince you that you’ve failed. Just keep showing up.
Two years ago, I never imagined I’d be here.
