If you’ve wandered through the Muddy Creek Cafe in Old Salem, you’ve probably noticed the beautiful artwork tucked throughout our rooms. This Friday evening, you can meet the women behind it.

Join us for an Artist Meet & Greet with Miche Lane + Janice Weiss, with live music from Laura Clay.

Come wander through the cafe and Listening Room, look at the art, meet the artists, sip a glass of w**e, have a little supper, and enjoy an early-fall Friday evening in Old Salem.

No ticket. No big production. Just art, music, food, w**e and good company in a 250-year-old setting. We think it’s going to be a pretty lovely night.

The Muddy Creek Cafe in Old Salem just seems to shine on a rainy afternoon. 🍂

With autumn days upon us, it’s time to make a date for lunch. Delicious sandwiches, classic Moravian Chicken Pies, Tillamook ice cream, b**r & w**e—and plenty of special events sprinkled in along the way.

Wander Old Salem, duck in out of the rain, have a little lunch, and stay awhile. And yes, we’ve got LOTS of free parking!

Friends, we got to see this fabulous family bluegrass band at the County Fair last night, and trust us—we are in for a treat this afternoon at the Muddy Creek Listening Room in Old Salem!

Dear MariBella and the Pigkickers are a sibling bluegrass band from near Wilmington, NC, with roots in the Blue Ridge and plenty of Carolina spirit. Isabella on fiddle, AnnMari on guitar, Pete on banjo, Chris on mandolin, and Dad on bass—they bring beautiful harmonies, great picking, sibling banter, and a whole lot of heart to the stage.

And these young musicians are making some noise! They’ve opened for Sam Bush, played the IBMA World of Bluegrass youth stage in 2024 & 2025, performed at MerleFest, and placed second in the 2025 Blue Highway Fest Rising Stars competition.
Come spend your Sunday afternoon with us. Good music, good food, a beautiful historic setting, and one very talented family on our little Listening Room stage. ❤️🎻
