Exciting news to share with The Powder Room Café community. The Café at 1016 Burke Street will be temporarily shutting down on Saturday, January 20 and will reopen in the Spring under new ownership, a new brand and with a fabulous new look. And best of all, much expanded food and beverage options that will continue to raise the bar for daytime fare on Burke Street.⁠

Though I’m busting at the seams to do so, I’m not at liberty to share more details at the moment. Stay tuned here for updates in the coming weeks and please rest assured in my commitment to expanding and improving the appeal and diversity of retail and dining on Burke. I promise – you’re going to love what’s coming.⁠

It is bittersweet for all of us at The Powder Room. This community as well as a whole slew of out-of-town guests have been so supportive, enthusiastic and incredibly loyal. You made our little jewel box of a café successful and we love you dearly for it.⁠

Twice. This has happened twice in the past two weeks. Luckily no one was zipping by on a moped and everyone was fine. The wall is quite tired and requests that you stay on your toes in the parking lot...and walking down Burke Street. ⁠

Tomorrow is going to be a good day. A little creepy. Kind of pretty, Maybe a bit kitschy, but we don't freakin care. It's Halloween dammit. Our Disco Dystopia Party is all day long. ⁠

It's going to be a perfect day to be one the patio with a slightly creepy, but delicious drink. We will be serving a Coffin Grazing Board, Two Vampire & a Coffin (it's basically some yummy things for dipping baked pita), some incredible Wednesday Addams themed cupcakes & cookies from . ⁠

You made it through yesterday’s test run which is commonly known as the first day of school. Today though, you're going to get through getting the kids on the bus or dropping them off at school with military precision.
