After five incredible years, we’ve come to the very difficult decision to step away from Offbeat and close this chapter of our lives as our lease comes to an end at the end of this month.
As many of you know, we welcomed our daughter on Christmas Eve, and since then our priorities in life have truly changed.
Ice cream used to always be our number one priority. Since our daughter arrived, it has naturally taken a backseat more than we ever imagined it would. Becoming parents shifted our perspective in ways we couldn’t have anticipated, and family has become our biggest focus.
Many of you have probably noticed our prices increasing over the last year. Unfortunately, this has been due to the ongoing economic situation in the world. Some of our ingredients have doubled in price, making it incredibly difficult to keep our ice cream at a price point that felt accessible to everyone while staying profitable enough. We never wanted Offbeat to become a premium brand that was out of reach for people.
While there are different avenues forward, we’ve come to the conclusion that this life just isn’t for us anymore. Consistent hours and consistent income never sounded so good.
That being said, we would absolutely love to see Offbeat’s mission and dream continue in some form. If anyone is interested in inquiring about Offbeat and/or its equipment, we are all ears. ❤️The relationships we’ve built have been the most fulfilling part of this journey. Our customers are the number one reason we kept going all these years. We’ve grown to know so many of you on a first-name basis, and the joy of serving you is something we will cherish forever.
We never imagined this little idea would turn into what it became. What started as a side gig grew into something so much bigger.A huge thank you to Uncommon Coffee for opening up your space to us, and to the City of Winooski for giving us a shot at the pool and accommodating us however possible. Thank you to all the business owners who supported us, purchased from us, and shared words of wisdom along the way. To all of our employees, you guys got us here, let us be home with our baby and kept everything going. Y’all are the real MVP’s.
