The Mandarin

The Mandarin Our story goes back to 1988 when my family moved here from New York and opened a Chinese restaurant on Church Street called Mandarin.

Back then the economy wasn't what it is today and we had to close down after a number of years. Since then my mother Joyce stayed in and around the restaurant business. 15 years ago, she opened a successful restaurant called Joyce's Noodle House in Essex Ctr, which is still there today. My name is Lawrence Fong and have been in and around the restaurant business all my life. I am still currently

a chef at Joyce's and my plan is to bring the same great food to Winooski. A lot has changed since 1988 and Winooski is a destination now for many people local and from out of town for food and drinks. I felt bringing back the Mandarin was only appropriate! We are under construction now and am hoping for a June opening! I know a lot of people are curious as to what is going in the old Donny's Pizza place, please like our page and share with someone who is curious and interested to find out!
