Six years ago today, my grandmother Gertrude gained her wings. 🕊️💛

Today I honored her the best way I know how—with a Buttered Whiskey Pound Cake inspired by the very first pound cake she taught me to bake.

Mother Dear never used a written recipe. She taught me with hand measurements, patience, experience, and love. Those lessons became the foundation of my passion for cooking and baking.

While the Buttered Whiskey flavor is my own twist, the heart of this cake comes from her.

Gertrude’s Kitchen proudly carries her name, and every meal and dessert carries a piece of her legacy forward.

Forever loved. Forever missed. 💛🕊️🍰.
