Seeing Wimberley Cafe in the Wall Street Journal is pretty special, but what means the most is that they told Linda’s story. We sure miss her. This whole coffee mug tradition started with Jen’s vision to help people feel seen and connected, and it’s become one of the things that makes our little cafe feel like home. We’re grateful for Linda, for our community, and for everyone who’s made this place so much more than a restaurant

Towns like Wimberley, Dripping Springs and Spicewood have seen explosive growth since the pandemic, as buyers looking for more space for less take notice.

Winning Best Chef is a little awkward considering I spend more time unclogging drains and fixing equipment than cooking these days. I’m basically the head maintenance guy with a chef coat.

Wimberley has welcomed a lot of great new restaurants over the last few years, and I love seeing our town grow. But if there’s one thing I know, it’s that nobody outworks the teams at Marco’s Italian and Wimberley Cafe, and the most “touristy” joints on the Square will always be committed to quality over quantity. People over profits.

These teams don’t just make great food- they create genuine hospitality. Every plate, every smile, every guest matters. It’s our culture. That’s what sets us apart.

This award doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the incredible people who show up every day determined to do it just a little better than everyone else. If I had one wish, it would be to get everyone in one place at one time for a pic!

Thank you to our guests and to the Wimberley community for believing in us. We’ll keep earning it- one meal and one act of hospitality at a time.
