🍬 We are Hiring at the Wilton Candy Kitchen! 🍬

We are looking to add an Assistant Manager to our Candy Kitchen team. This is more than just restaurant management position, this is a hands-on role working alongside our team. This individual will help lead the floor, keep things running smoothly with our day-to-day operations, and create the kind of experience people remember when they walk through our doors.

We take a lot of pride in what we’ve built here, and we’re looking for someone who brings that same level of care and energy. The right person is dependable, takes initiative, communicates well, and enjoys working with people in a fast-paced environment.

No prior management experience required—we’re happy to train the right person. Flexible availability (including evenings and weekends) is expected. Pay is based on experience, with bonus opportunities.

We love supporting our amazing community here at the Wilton Candy Kitchen and we want to make sure everyone knows about a great local tradition coming up soon. 

The Wilton fire department’s 30th annual pancake breakfast is happening on Sunday, February 22 from 6 AM to 12 PM at 318 E. 5th St.

Stop by for a delicious breakfast, great company and a chance to support the firefighters who serve our town year-round. There will also be several raffle baskets to choose from - including a Candy Kitchen basket, we’re proud to contribute.

Come out. Enjoy a wonderful morning and show some love to our local heroes.

Today we offer this Prayer of Gratitude and Grace…

We come before You in gratitude for this historic moment for the Wilton Beavers Football Team and our entire community. Again Wilton football has made history, our team has earned the incredible opportunity to compete in a State Semifinal game for the second time. We thank You for the dedication, hard work, and spirit that have brought them this far.

We pray for each player, coach, student, and Beaver fan, asking that You guide them and fill them with pride and joy as they share in this experience. Grant our team the strength to play with passion and focus and bless them with the resilience to face whatever comes their way. Help them remember that this journey has been about more than just a game; it’s a testament to the power of commitment, teamwork, and the love of this community.

Win or lose, may they demonstrate true sportsmanship, leading with integrity and lifting each other up. Unite Beaver fans everywhere as they cheer with excitement, and let this moment be a celebration of our school and the town of Wilton, Iowa.

Dear Friends, Near and Far,

Starting November 15, the Wilton Candy Kitchen will begin closing on Sundays so our family and staff can take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together.

We will continue to welcome you Monday through Saturday during our normal hours, serving up all your favorites,

And for the first time in our 165-year history, we’ll also be taking a winter break from December 23 through January 31, reopening February 1. This pause will allow us to refresh and focus on exciting projects — including the development of the Heritage Center and the move of the historic Sharon Schoolhouse into the Candy Kitchen complex — all to enhance the experiences we share with you here in Wilton.

The Wilton Candy Kitchen has been part of our community’s story for over 165 years. Originally established as a confectionery in 1860, it grew into a beloved restaurant, soda fountain, and ice cream parlor. In 1910, Gus Nopoulos rebranded it as The Candy Kitchen — a name that has delighted generations ever since.

From the earliest days, being open seven days a week was essential, especially when travelers arrived by train from near and far. That tradition carried through the decades, and for us — Lynn and Brenda Ochiltree — it has been an honor to continue it since 2015.

We are deeply grateful to be part of this wonderful community and to share in a tradition that spans more than a century and a half. Thank you for your kindness, loyalty, and friendship.
