This upcoming Monday is our 5 year Sleeping Bird Coffee anniversary. 🥲 To celebrate, we will have a brand new Cinnamon Bun latte all weekend long! The cinnamon buns are what Sleeping Bird was first known for so it felt only appropriate to give an homage to our start! It’s made with house made brown sugar cinnamon syrup, topped with brown butter cream cheese frosting whip, and garnished with sprinkles (what’s a birthday without sprinkles). Available Friday 5/15- through Monday 5/18 ONLY so come by to help us celebrate!

While Sleeping Bird gears up to celebrate our FIVE year anniversary this weekend, we couldn’t let it pass us by without giving the BIGGEST shout out to resident barista & front of house manager Emily! Emily was our first hire back in 2021 when we opened and to love Sleeping Bird is to love Emily. We couldn’t have survived the past 5 years without them creating many of the drink flavors you love, keeping the front of house running smoothly and putting up with me buzzing around and getting in the way (sorry!) We love you and are so glad you’ve spent the past 5 years with us! 📸

Happy Mother’s Day!! In celebration of our upcoming 5 year anniversary, here is a video from the months leading up to the opening of Sleeping Bird Coffee. Maybe I’m looking back with rose colored glasses but despite how difficult it was to get open (delayed construction! potential employees ghosting us! covid!) it has truly been a dream to be part of Miller Road Station and the Wilmington community the past 5 years. And despite the challenges we have faced since being open (slow days! learning how to manage effectively! things breaking constantly!) I can’t imagine doing anything else with anyone else. Zach and I have since gotten engaged, married and had a baby (!) since opening the shop and even though life looks a lot different since May 18, 2021 Sleeping Bird is still my favorite place to be. If you see us this week please say hi and we can’t wait to celebrate the official 5 year anniversary this Friday-Sunday for giveaways, specials, and general merriment at The Bird :)
