Homemade vanilla cream mousse , with a slice of vanilla sponge cake, and fruit filling (lemon curd, strawberry, raspberry and mango) dipped in a layer of white chocolate for the amazing crunch 😍.

The chocolate is filled with pistachio cream and shredded phyllo dough . The perfect mix of sweet and salty

🎂💗 CAKE DONATION PROGRAM 💗🎂

Every child/adult deserves to feel celebrated on their special day. 💕 Sometimes purchasing a beautiful custom birthday cake simply isn’t possible for a family — and I would love to use my little business to help when I can.

Pretty Baked by Crystal is now accepting nominations for local school families experiencing financial hardship who may not otherwise be able to purchase a custom birthday cake.

Families may nominate themselves or someone they know through a private message.

🎂 A LITTLE ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Because Pretty Baked by Crystal is a small business and these cakes are being donated, I will only be able to accept a limited number of families each month.

I want this program to be something I can continue long-term while still keeping my small business financially sustainable. Because of this, submitting a nomination does not guarantee a cake, and selections will depend on my availability, existing orders, supplies and funds available through community donations.

There is absolutely no fee to nominate a family, and families will never be publicly identified because of their financial circumstances. 💗

🩷 MEET THE BAKER | MY WHY 🎂

Hi, I’m Crystal, the baker behind Pretty Baked by Crystal, and my reason for baking goes a little deeper than my love for sweets.

Before starting my baking journey, I spent a couple of years working for CPS. During that time, I saw children going through circumstances they never chose—and something that always stayed with me was seeing birthdays come and go without a cake or much of a celebration.

Whether it was a 5-year-old waiting for their special day or a teenager turning Sweet 16, my heart hurt knowing they might miss those moments simply because life had dealt them a different hand.

That experience became a huge part of my why. 💕

Today, I get to create cakes and sweets for some of life’s happiest moments, but I also make it a priority to give back whenever I can. It’s why you’ll see me doing giveaways, donating cakes and finding ways to help families in my community.

Because to me, it’s more than just cake.

It’s a child feeling remembered.
It’s a family getting to celebrate.
It’s someone knowing, “I matter, too.” 🥹🎂

I hate having to write posts like this.

I’ve sat here staring at my phone, hoping somehow we’d make it work without asking for help again. We’ve cut every corner possible. We’ve stretched every dollar until there was nothing left to stretch.

But today… we have to be honest.

We are completely out of dog food.

The bags that so many of you generously donated a couple of months ago are gone. Every penny we had saved for food has been spent. We have exhausted every resource we had.

When people think about running a rescue, they often see the happy adoption photos. What they don’t see are the sleepless nights wondering how we’re going to afford the next meal, the next vet bill, the next emergency. They don’t see the sacrifices made behind the scenes or the constant fear that we won’t have enough.

These dogs have already been failed by people once. Many came to us starving, neglected, abused, abandoned, or left to fend for themselves. We promised them they would never know that kind of fear again.

We refuse to break that promise.

But we can’t do this alone.

If you can donate even one bag of dog food, it matters. If you can spare $5, $10, or $20, it matters. If all you can do is share this post, it matters. Every act of kindness brings us one step closer to making sure every dog has a full belly tomorrow.
