One of the BEST parts of our Tiger Café program is getting to work with our 18+ students! 💙🐯

Each week, our 18+ program heads to Walmart to pick up the fresh foods we need for Tiger Café. They shop from our list and bring everything back ready for us to get to work!

And the partnership goes both ways! We also sell their freeze-dried candies in Tiger Café after school, giving them another place to showcase and sell what they make.

It’s such a great way for our programs to work together while giving students real-world experience with real jobs and a real purpose.

We love having our 18+ crew as part of the Tiger Café team! 💙🐯

🐯 Tiger Café made a little history today!

Today was our very first Tiger Café Staff Lunch Bunch, and it went off without a hitch! 🙌

Our students prepared, packaged, labeled, and delivered lunch to our staff — putting those real-world restaurant skills to work from production all the way to the final delivery.

Today’s lunch was a foil-pack meal loaded with hamburger steak, potatoes, carrots, peppers, onions and corn, plus our small town famous Texas Sheet cake. 😋

We’ve been planning this one for a while, so seeing that first row of lunches ready to go out the door was pretty exciting!

First Lunch Bunch = SUCCESS! 💙🐯

Now we get to do it all over again tomorrow with tacos!!😂

We are SO excited — Lunch Bunch starts Monday! 🐯🍴

Here’s a peek at what our Tiger Café students will be serving up for our very first week!

Today our 2nd period crew finished up their biscuit lesson by making compound butter AND homemade gravy — and, of course, finally getting to eat those biscuits! 🙌

We also had a little fun with popcorn this week, and our drink special was the Tiger Colada, lemonade with blue raspberry, coconut and pineapple.
Since it was Hawaiian Day, every drink got a tiny umbrella… because why not? 🌴🍹😂

Our afternoon classes wrapped up the day making personal pan pizzas and prepping more pizzas for our grab-and-go sales. 🍕🐯

Lots of cooking, lots of teamwork, and lots of real-world food service happening in the Tiger Café this week!

Today in Tiger Café we got back to the basics! 🧈

Students made homemade butter swim biscuits and then created their own compound butters to go with them. They got to experiment with different flavors and combinations—and of course, taste the results! 😋

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best ones. Fresh, warm biscuits + flavored butter = a pretty good day in Tiger Café! 💙🐯

Caharcuterie day in Tiger Café! 🧀🍇

Today our students made charcuterie boards for FFA and a cheese & cracker tray for the middle school.

Then we gave them a little challenge — use the leftovers to create their own dessert charcuterie boards! Each team got creative with what they had, and we picked a winning board to deliver to our office staff to enjoy. ❤️

Another fabulous Tiger Café After School! 🐯💙

I didn’t get many pictures once we opened because we were BUSY!! But I did manage to get some of our students working throughout the day to get everything prepped and ready.

From pizzas to desserts, our students worked together all day preparing, baking, portioning and getting everything ready for service. Then at 4:30, we opened the doors and got to put all that work into action!

This is exactly what Tiger Café is all about — learning by doing, working as a team and getting real-world food service experience.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our students again today! We’ll see you next Monday!!🐯🍕
